U mean U650.

Evdo will not be on the sway because it isn't vcast capable and doesn't have an html browser. it is vcast w/rhapsody capable which means all songs must be synced with the cpu. the Samsung u620 (what the Sway is replacing) had horrible battery life so i think they met all the needs that anybody could want. Also it will be introduced at a lower price than the chocolate so expect a deal at launch.

Actually, the Sway in no way replaces the Samsung u620 - they are nothing alike. The u620 WAS EVDO capable, and was actually a Mobile TV device. This Sway is nothing more than a basic user phone with a higher resolution camera; more of a successor to the u410, not the u620.

what the ... who makes a high end phone and leaves out the slightly important EVDO component? Disappointed in Samsung .. and Verizon for actually wanting the device ..

Well, not everyone wants or needs a slider with high speed internet. In fact, the majority of customers I have don't give a #$%& about it.

ive hearding having evdo on a phone uses slightly more battery

I guess, but if I had a 2MP camera, I would want fast speeds when sending a PIX or FLIX message. Even EVDO seems slow when sending those things, I can only imagine how slow those messages would send when restricted to 1X...

Yep. I'm one of those. I was hoping to get VU30, but once I figured out it will require switching to NW plan, decided that VZW can shove it up theirs %&&es. Meanwhile, it looks like Sammy is all I need (given that mobile mail uses Web 2.0 with no hidden costs).

I don't think the Blitz has EVDO support either, but you can still enjoy VCAST Music downloads, which means also on this one. The Rapture looks different than it did when it was released in the latest Verizon brochure earlier last month.

you can only go on vcast music and video store when the little EV is displayed in the signal strngth place. also, without the ev recieving pix and flix is slower and also internet.

The Sammy's colour isn't very good.... when it comes to design, colour is where Sammy usually fails.
