A Moto Mod being funded on Indiegogo provides a third party physical QWERTY keyboard for the Moto Z line. That includes the Moto Z, Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play. The accessory might end up including a 2100mAh battery to help power the keyboard. The keys are generously sized and are rounded on top to help users get a finger-tip feel for the keyboard. If you are a Droid fanatic, the five-row QWERTY (which sports a row of numerals on top) might remind you of the slide out keyboard on the Motorola DROID 4. No high-end QWERTY equipped slider has been manufactured in almost five years.

The developer, a company called Livermorium, is looking to raise a total of $100,000. With a month left on the fund raising time clock, the Keyboard Mod for Moto Z as it is formally known as, has raised $34,623. That means for the project to proceed, another $65,377 needs to be raised.

Make a $60 donation (the retail price is expected to be $120), add shipping, and your slide out Keyboard Mod for Moto Z will be shipped in July, all dressed in black. For $80, you will receive the Moto Mod QWERTY in your choice of Gold, White and Black. For $200, the Livermorium Starter Edition uses a color for the trim that will not be repeated in any future model. Each unit is not only offered in QWERTY format, but can also be ordered in QWERTZ and AZERTY formats. The keyboard can be adjusted to tilt between 0 and 45 degrees.
