More rumors suggest Nokia is ready to sell their phone division to Microsoft

Danske Bank of Denmark issued a statement to their clients this morning that informs them of Nokia’s intentions to sell their phone division to Microsoft in the first half of 2012, something the Finnish manufacturer has denied before…

MIcrosoft could be following a mantra that some companies take where if you want to make quick inroads in something, buy it. In this case, they have Windows Phone, which is compelling, but they will need some serious support to help guide the focus of that enterprise. Thus, Nokia as a partnership makes sense now but eventually they might acquire them for really turn some heads.

Just like they are probably going to buy Yahoo. Bing is making some serious moves and in the long term looks to matter to the world of search. Getting Yahoo is just a stepping stone in that right.

One thing to dispel the rumor: Microsoft has been releasing a lot of apps on iOS lately. I think they are prepping themselves to put out of the mobile OS market and focus on PC and tablet. Why would they release various WP exclusive apps on iOS if they plan on buying out Nokia?
