Ok I meant the type Fusic not Muziq in post 211 (Damn Sprint and their fake word names for phones). The Fusic released in 06 and the Muziq is the new model which released this year. The Fusic was the first phone in the US with the FM trasmitter but the Muziq also has that feature. The Muziq may have released after the new chocolate but Fusic realeased a full two years and all three look the same.

These phones need to come to AT&T... Verizon kills most phones anyways by putting their stupid operating system on all of them.

Actually, not *entirely* true. I have a Samsung sch-i760, my wife a treo 700w, both on VZW, both running winmo, rather than Verizon's proprietary interface ui (which does, I agree, suck balls, it's why I never even considered the voyager/EnV2), and we are more than happy with them. I am also (as the above poster is) suspicious that Sprint has full specs on what the vzw versions are going to be. I call shenanigans on this alleged "update", though if true, I will be buying my touch pro (which I have been drooling over since I first saw it) in unlocked flavor, thank you very much.

vzw only puts its OS on non pda phones, thank you for your fact-less comment though.

Umm... the HTC Touch Pro is coming to AT&T. It's going to be called the Fuze. The FCC has already passed the GSM version of the phone for the U.S. on AT&T's slightly different, Americanized 3G network. You should check Engadget and Gizmodo sometimes. They can be your best friends in this regard. Anywho, to every bickering over the carriers... I work for AT&T as an Authroized Technician. I service a lot of phones first hand on a daily basis, and I know what they're flaws and bugs are. Not to mention I do my research before I slander any carrier or device. First off, I have always been a Sprint customer through the good, the bad, and the ugly mainly because Sprint has the best phones (hands down). That is why I stuck with Sprint because even though they were the very last carrier to get unlimited available nationwide, they are the only carrier they has "true unlimited". No carrier to this day can beat the "Simply Everything Plan" for only $99.99. This is coming from someone who has AT&T service for free. That alone should tell you something... With that said, I have a friend that has been defending VZW since I met him. He would always bash me for having Sprint. Back when Verizon didn't gimp phones, he and I had the infamous Palm Treo 700wx. It was considered to be the best Windows Mobile Device in early 2007. We used to always debate on the issue of who was the better carrier. We even compared coverage maps. BTW, Sprint has the most coverage in southern states. I live in Texas. So to speed ahead and make a long story short, It wasn't too long before I got the Treo that after 6 months I decided to buy a Sprint Mogul, which is the equivalent to Verizon's XV6800. Now although I went through plenty of updates for that phone, Sprint always worked with HTC to improve the device to the best of their ability. They had overall about several updates which were a few bug fixes, added Sprint supported features, and some radio updates. Verizon only released one official update which was the WM 6.1 software. Therefore, all kitchen ROMS that were cooked up by PPCGeeks and XDADevelopers were from previous and recent Sprint HTC Mogul updates. My friend got his XV6800 over 6 months ago and uses one of these kitchen ROMS. This page ended up being the straw broke the camels back when he found this list on this site because of his anticpation for this device. We always had the same taste, but not the same know how. When he found this to be true. He automatically conceded to our days of debating who was overall better. I know my post was a little overdrawn, but I feel this story needed to be shared. I like Verizon just as well as Sprint, but overall you must admit that Sprint has the better package for customers in the long run. Even over AT&T, and I work for them. LOL

why the hell cant verizon get something with some quality in its network, here a perfectly good device they strip the shit out of it and now we get something that works like the Voyager with the ability to add in business features. Damn mutant phones I tell ya. Does anyone know if we can get an unlocked sprint version and program it for Verizon? Please don't try to sell me on sprint either the phones are good the network and the billing suck been there done that and it was the worst year for cell phone use I had ever had I even got a home phone during the time cuz they sucked so bad I never knew if I was going to be able to call

You will have to wait for the "Any Device" open network to use any CDMA phone that is not in their database.

Still wish we had the Camera on both sides like the pictures show...... and I'm not understanding why the Victor/Diamond doesn't have a camera flash...? Any ideas on whether or not the cameras in these are as nice as the Moguls? with great pictures, custom backgrounds, panorama, etc? I do agree with #16....think it might just be a selling agent since we get it first.....but still......Sprints PDA's are always better.... Wish Sprint was the one that got the original names of Diamond and Raphael though........Victor and Herman don't sound as cool....I mean.... HERMAN??? who thought of that name?

While i do agree that its to early to say what verizon is gonna do with the phones but thos specs are close to what have been rumored and with verizon most likely will kill features that ppl actully would want on a phone the article comes pretty damn close also i guess verizon will be killing the radio on this to huh...And i actually have verizon as my service but hate the fact we get told what we will be gettin in a phone other thant what the customer wants....

I work with a marketing agency that does work for one of the mobile providers (I won't say which one). I'll try to find out this week what the details will be for the HTC phones. The more I look at it, the more I want one. We're switching services soon and I'm curious to see what the price would be..maybe I can postpone for 30 days or so so that I can get a temp phone and then return it and upgrade. I'll let you know what happens.

*IF* those specs are right I will definitely be disappointed. I like everything about the Touch Pro (expect I'd like a bigger screen) and would hate to see stuff getting cut out. I suppose I can live without the fast processor, though it stinks. The sensor I don't care about. (If it is included I hope I can override or turn it off as I often read ebooks while laying on my side in bed. The screen is oriented in landscape then but I'm on my side as well so I want it in portrait mode.) However, if Verizon also cuts out stuff like the radio, wifi, or gps I'm gonna be ticked then. I'll also look at getting an unlocked phone and try to get it running on Verizon.

Good luck there. Not too many unlocked CDMA phones out there that will still be able to be activated on the major US carriers... Plus keep in mind that the processor on the VZW DIAMOND HAS TWICE THE INTERNAL SYSTEM MEM. 64MB vs 32MB. This will probably make the two processors about even. Where sprint gets the cake is twice the system ram and the built in 4GB flash, that stinks for us... Plus VZW never cuts the WIFI from their HTC line up, ever. So no worries

Again people quit your crappy attitudes towards VZW...so it won't have an accelometer WHO GIVES A FLYING F****.....i guarantee that it would probbaly be set up so that when you open the internet browser/camera it will force you to turn the phone anyways becasue of the way it is displayed on the screen. This would make the device have to THINK less and therefor not crap out on the VZW UI LOL ...but don't get me wrong i wish VZW didnt take so much from phones
41. manix (unregistered) posted on 05 Aug 2008, 13:31 0 0
The accelometer is the most important feature. For those that don't know what it is--take a look at all the cool apps for the iPhone and look at the functions of the Wii controls. Crippling the accelometer function is just plain stupid.
