We have new information about the Touch Diamond (called Victor and Diamond) and its QWERTY sibling (the Herman and Raphael) which are expected with Sprint and Verizon Wireless ...

I think the phone itselft doesnt need an accelorometer. What for? so the screen switches orientation, when it can do the same thing by sliding the keyboard out.

I agree, but that is in regards to the Raphael/Herman, not the Diamond/Victor which does not have a sliding keyboard.

@owned Can you also verify the RAM and the accuracy of the specs from that sheet? @LessthanZach You seemed to be pretty knowledgeable on Verizon-so, can you confirmed if Verizon will accept phones from Sprint to be used on their network? More specifically, can the Sprint Touch Pro version be used my a Verizon customer by calling customer service and adding the phone?

No. This will not be able to happen until VZW opens its network as part of our Open Network program opening later this year. At that point, verizon will put phones from other networks through a mandatory testing period and if that phone passes preliminary tests then that model will be able to be added either online, in store, or over the phone. As of now, it is very rare to be able to add a competitors phone, but it is possible with some of the smaller companies phones; such as US Cellular

@LessthanZach You're right. I asked the same question to another VZW rep and they said the same thing. Your document is authentic. Which is bad news for me as a VZW customer. I was partial to the Touch Pro as my next phone. Without the Motion G sensor and low RAM & slower processor speed, I'm forced to get Sprint's version or wait for AT&T to get theirs (better coverage than Sprint). Thank you for your posts and shedding light on the confusion.

Why not opt for the blackberry thunder instead? If you haven't tried a blackberry yet I would look into it. All touchscreen, accelerometer, brand new OS and WEBKIT built browser (same as safari mobile). The screen is going to be like an inch or more bigger than the HTC anyways. You're almost definitely going to get worse reception and I won't go into the customer service. No official word yet but the Thunder is supposed to be out before the end of the year. Just a thought....

@LessThanZach The Thunder looks like an amazing phone with the business features I need. Any more specs on the phone? Crackberry.com doesn't have anything on it. Email me offline @ mphayvanh at yahoo dot com.

Wasn't Open Network supposed to happen months ago? I've been poking at a replacement for my i760 for months now, doing tons of research, and that's the chief obstacle to it.

Certain phones have started to work on our network and I have seen some alltel acquisition accounts in our infodesk. But open network is not supposed to be official until 4Q

Does anyone know if there's gonna be a GSM version for U.S? or at least rumors or speculations? if so then which carrier is gonna offer it? i'm currently with tmobile but looking to switch to att. I'd prefer gsm cuz at least it can be unlocked and used with any gsm carriers. Thanks

Check out this thread and you decide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?
t=410945Leaked Touch Pro Rom for AT&T.
Why didn't VZW just get rid of the Stainless Steel body, and get the accelerometer? Also are either of them going to have the touch sensitive button wheel on the front? Or the front camera?
SOOOOO, IS THE CRIPPLING OF THE VERIZON VERSION CONFIRMED OR NOT???

You do all realize Verzion is offering a bring your own phone service soon, so that means you can buy the sprint version and use it on verizon, seeing as they are both CDMA. So all you fanboys NEED to stop complaining, yeesh

Well i work for sprint and freaking hate verizon all they do is bullyin up on the other companys with all there money. The reason why they still have all the customers they do is because all the old farts only get one bill for their home phone and cell phone and dont realize sprint has more value, sprint has the best network, the best plans, and best phone and yes sub-par customer care, but my man dan hesse is fixing that and for the second quarter we had the lowest churn rate since the merger, and just wait until the 3rd quarter numbers come out. Not to mention the Sero plans but the everything plans are also a great value...soon people will see who the best company is after that get that iphone taste out there mouth and jump on the htc ban wagon... RIP WACKIZON

RIP WACKIZON... LMAO!!!
verizon kicks a$$, sprints gay my dad has it, att sucks too we payed to cancel the contract, ill just get me a sprint one, if i cant then ill deal with it, dude you all sound like girls, its a sweet phone either way. btw my dad is switching to verizon cuz the verizon to verizon thing is sweet. i got the razr 2 v9m and it woops all those phones
dude i agree with anonymous verizon is pretty much the best

what good is a good phone on a crappy network? do you realize that 4 gig internal is not as good as having an sd slot? id like to see anyone with the sprint version to take photos on a regular camera and have the ability to view them on their phone without using the cameras battery to view them. there are advantages to each phone but for arguments sakes that the sprint is the best phone on the planet... come to syracuse area and make a call with it and watch every vzw diamond owner without your features point and laugh at you
189. sit2k (unregistered)
dboy, the magic work for verizon having all those customer is "signal"
190. sit2k (unregistered)
update: dont get me wrong... i hate verizon with a passion.. their customer service is as dumb as a box of rocks... but the signal is unbeatable! they replaced my i730 with an i760 once.. they sent the phone without a battery or charger as they said they would.. the phone arrived w/o the battery and i called for a batter and the charger that was not sent. the send the battery without the charger.... i called for the charger 3 different 2day shipping methods to replace the phone... this has happened a few times too.. how pathetic is that really
well my mom pays for all my stuff so i can just sit back and enjoy while all you cry, verizon is a hoe with messing with the phones but hey there gonna be open to all phones just about so there ya go, verizon wins
oh yeah and loading anything on internal takes about 3 times longer than sd so have fun sitting and waiting all day
You're joking right? Take an iPhone, Dare, and Instinct and load them with about 100 pictures from a digital camera. Then see which phone loads the pictures faster. The iPhone will do it almost instanly because it is loading them from internal memory. The Dare and Instinct will have to scan the SD card before it can even load them. I would like it to have the card slot but to say it will take 3x longer to load anything from the internal is just ass backwards. It will take 3x longer for the SD card to load data versus internal.
yeah right i tested it like loading songs from sd or to internal is way differnt, internal is gay dont deny it
Wow. AGAIN Verizon nerfed a fantastic HTC phone. I got my Touch (aka VX6900) and was sadly disappointed when Sprint got GPS. Verizon cut it out AGAIN, not to mention downgrading the processor to a speed that is ages old. My old Dell Axim X50V PDA, which is 4+ years old, has a 624 (or something like that) mhz proc in it. Come on. Why can we not get better processors in our phones.
it doesn't need all that if it doesn't have a gps and im sure it has something that sprints doesn't which all in all makes it better

i dont know if anyone has heard this yet but the pro version (w/keyboard) will be out on the 14 of september for sprint
