While i do agree that its to early to say what verizon is gonna do with the phones but thos specs are close to what have been rumored and with verizon most likely will kill features that ppl actully would want on a phone the article comes pretty damn close also i guess verizon will be killing the radio on this to huh...And i actually have verizon as my service but hate the fact we get told what we will be gettin in a phone other thant what the customer wants....

I work with a marketing agency that does work for one of the mobile providers (I won't say which one). I'll try to find out this week what the details will be for the HTC phones. The more I look at it, the more I want one. We're switching services soon and I'm curious to see what the price would be..maybe I can postpone for 30 days or so so that I can get a temp phone and then return it and upgrade. I'll let you know what happens.

*IF* those specs are right I will definitely be disappointed. I like everything about the Touch Pro (expect I'd like a bigger screen) and would hate to see stuff getting cut out. I suppose I can live without the fast processor, though it stinks. The sensor I don't care about. (If it is included I hope I can override or turn it off as I often read ebooks while laying on my side in bed. The screen is oriented in landscape then but I'm on my side as well so I want it in portrait mode.) However, if Verizon also cuts out stuff like the radio, wifi, or gps I'm gonna be ticked then. I'll also look at getting an unlocked phone and try to get it running on Verizon.

Good luck there. Not too many unlocked CDMA phones out there that will still be able to be activated on the major US carriers... Plus keep in mind that the processor on the VZW DIAMOND HAS TWICE THE INTERNAL SYSTEM MEM. 64MB vs 32MB. This will probably make the two processors about even. Where sprint gets the cake is twice the system ram and the built in 4GB flash, that stinks for us... Plus VZW never cuts the WIFI from their HTC line up, ever. So no worries

Again people quit your crappy attitudes towards VZW...so it won't have an accelometer WHO GIVES A FLYING F****.....i guarantee that it would probbaly be set up so that when you open the internet browser/camera it will force you to turn the phone anyways becasue of the way it is displayed on the screen. This would make the device have to THINK less and therefor not crap out on the VZW UI LOL ...but don't get me wrong i wish VZW didnt take so much from phones

The accelometer is the most important feature. For those that don't know what it is--take a look at all the cool apps for the iPhone and look at the functions of the Wii controls. Crippling the accelometer function is just plain stupid.

Actually anonymous, (whoever you are), the more crippling thing that VZW did was not only gimping two of their possibly best selling WinMo devices, but inevitably purchasing Alltel Wireless so they could expand their network coverage to rural areas. All of that extra money and will power could have went to keeping this phone's original specs, but instead, Verizon relies more on their credibitally for network coverage over Sprint than to worry about any one particular phone. So it's sorta one's lose and one's gain here. But hey, look on the bright side, at least you as a Verizon customer could switch to Alltel and join the "My Circle" plan... LOL j/k

Obviously VZW is putting all their eggs in the Blackberry Thunder basket! The only reason they would cripple the Diamond this bad is to help Thunder sales. They have a LIFETIME exclusive on the Thunder...AS long as the sales quota is met. When the Thunder is released, supposedly in Oct, Verizon will have released 4-5 (pending on Herman or whatever the hell its name is going to be) touch phones this summer. I was very interesed in the Diamond when I first caught wind that it was coming to the US in CDMA. I've read several "bad lag" reviews about the GSM version and it sounds like VZW version may lag even more if these specs are true. However, it really doesn't make much sense for HTC to create two totally different CDMA phones. I guess Sprint shelled out some cash for this one...

Regarding Touch Pro lag issues: It looks like software update will help, customer firmware/rom, and registry tweaks alleviate this issue. Or you could turn off the "TouchFlo3d" interface all together.

Good to hear they fixed the lag. However, whats the use of this phone if you have to turn off the Touch Flo UI? That's what makes this phone so unique.

Hey so I have another noob question. Someone here said that Verizon nerf's it's phones so you can't use Wi-Fi on them. Is that also true with a Blackberry's on verizon? I was thinking about getting the Blackberry Bold for Verizon and that would be a huge negative if I couldn't get Wi-Fi on the Bold because Verizon wouldn't allow it.

There are no official specs on the bold for vzw. Im really not too impressed with it and personally am waiting for the thunder. VZW does NOT nerf WiFi on its PDA's, our blackberries have never had wifi, only the GSM variants have.

i'm wondering if the sprint version will retain the second camera in the front of the phone for video calls? also, any idea as to the pricing for the "victor"? i wanna know how much my birthday present is going to cost. :p

CDMA Does not support Video calls at current time because the technology does not support continuous voice calls and data calls at the same time. That's why we have seen the europeans phones with the dual cams for so long: because they use GSM witch supports Video calls. Kinda sucks....

yea...that makes as much as swallowing glass. if u happen to be the 2 ppl in america that acutally like sprint, then by all means stay with them. but as a VZW customer for 6 yrs and a former Sprint employee, i have to be on the side of VZ on this one. Granted, some phones we get are a tamed version of the real thing, but they obviously do it for a reason. and no its not to piss us off or trap us in, it more than likely to keep improving on the network as a whole so u would be able to use the phone! that is the overall point of having a cellphone, right? or have we all forgotten that?

As a VZW employee, I have to say that VZDub spends its money in its network. Pull the report and you will see that VZ spends more money than any other carrier in the US which is why we have the largest 3G network in america. ATT claims they do, but not in US, they are taking stats from all over the world. I'm too poor to travel so I could give a crap about worldwide 3g. We spend more money on our LG exclusive series such as ENV, Chocolate, Voyager and Dare, than we do on our blackberry and PDA line ups, that's a fact. I am waiting for the day Sprint just throws in the towel and VZ swallows them up. It can't be too far away. Out of all the carriers, I think they carry themselves with the same stature as Metro PCS, lol.

Your delusional VZW has a better contract with LG and Better Cust Care.. The whole company sucks besides that.. They have a few more crippled LG phones who cares the chocolate 3 is a remix of a discontinued sprint phone for crying out loud.. You stay with your better customer care.. Ill take half off my bill..you take your bb thunder and Ill have my herman or victor which will be without a doubt the best two phones in the US.. And in So Cal Sprint has the fastest 3g vzw is right there but wimax will be out soon while you guys still wait for a solid LTE definition.. lol wimax is going to be so huge when it drops next year.. Nokia cant wait then sprint will have better device agreements than verizon anyway

well...one thing i cant stand is a person who sits on these things and bashes VZW in an effort to make themselves feel better for having a second rate cell carrier like Sprint, especially when they have no clue what is going on on the inside of that company. now im not an expert, but I along with many other Sprint employees saw this whole thing coming along time ago (by thing i mean Sprint's demise!) and if Sprint was so damn popular in SoCal, then why do u only see VZ and ATT customers there? All im saying is we cant take these documents as gospel bcuz Sprint is NOTORIOUS for lying and undercutting the competition to keep their customers roped in. We should just wait to see when each company acutally rolls out with their respective products and releases proper info about them.. AND AGAIN....this is coming from a former employee of sprint( who quit....so no im not disgruntled) and a customer of Vdub for a very long time.
