"slide out QWERTY keyboard", sounds like the samsung glyde, which means trouble. We will see what this means for LG.

LG phones generally work well. I think the 11000 might be my next phone.

Eh, I can kinda see how some one with only exposure to VZW would make that claim but in all reality a touch screen with a slide out QWERTY is far, far more common and the bad experience that is the Glyde doesn't even really register on that map. Really the Glyde is an anomaly in all ways. Samsung usually puts out better touchscreens and slide out QWERTYs (IMO) is generally a better form factor, just that one phone with that combination sucked. Either way, I'm thrilled by the news that its a slide out QWERTY. VZW needs more of those. The clamshell design was kinda pointless. Hopefully this will end up looking a bit like AT&T's Zenon, which is a pretty nice looking device.

GADZOOKS! A slider! Question! For those familiar with the versas upcoming slideout game pad, we all know that a keyboard variation will be made eventually and when that happens, wont a versa with a slide out keyboard be the same exact idea they are trying to achieve here??? (Minus a few things like motv of course......)

10. tanders04 posted on 19 Mar 2009, 19:23

No. I don't think you'll see another keyboard for the Versa. Its got one now. There were rumors of an internet module that would have wi-fi and a keyboard so that could be a slide out but I really don't think you'll see a slide out standalone keyboard when it comes with a folding one.

the glyde is being re-released... as the glyde. it will however have a completely different touch screen and different software. it will be a rolling launch in probably 2-3 months. also the alias is being refreshed as well. samnsung needs more devices on vzw!!

14. souleater93 posted on 20 Mar 2009, 22:08

i hope they refresh the alias, right now i have the dare and i hate the way the touch screen will recalibrate and its too hard to use the qwerty keyboard when texting fast

15. Cali_E posted on 21 Mar 2009, 11:57

that was a pretty retarded thing to say, the reason the glyde sucks is because of the type of touchscreen it uses, not the fact that its a slider.

i hope they call it the Voyager 2 still. if it has S-Class 3D it will be a good phone. hopeful the next enV goes back to being high end.

"..... Another new feature will let you easily access your contacts from the main screen...." This is what the report said about the Intrigue. Are you serious? I think every phone in the WORLD has THAT!!! Look at any Verizon phone and you will see "Contacts" listed to the right and is accessible by the right soft key. Don't get any easier that that.

7. tanders04 posted on 19 Mar 2009, 16:41

Here are some screen shots of it: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/03/19/nokia-intrigue-filtering-into-verizon-stores-features-weir d-ha/ The idea is that you don't 'have' to go into the contacts list. You get your top five on the home screen all the time. Think of it like t-mobile's fave five screen but with leaves and lizards instead of blank faces.

12. tanders04 posted on 19 Mar 2009, 20:22

True. LG seems to be getting closer and closer each time. The Versa is much better then the Dare for example. Maybe they'll actually get it this time.

16. Legion posted on 21 Mar 2009, 15:38

Id say the versa is pretty damn close
