Quit trying to speculate what new phone will kill the iPhone...GEEEEEZ! There are so many phones that have kicked the iPhone's A$$, but we don't get them in the states. If you want a killer phone then you gotta get your eyes out of the US phone market. I for one have my eye on the Samsung Omnia, that thing looks sweet. This Dare, looks pretty bada$$ too

meh..Verizon will ALWAYS make money A. they price their phones at a premium even they r 3yrs old like the motorola Q9music B. They will always upsell their highest plan networks for those who dont know any better

you verizon fanboys need to get laid...

26. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 13:28

and you need to get reception. Dont be jealous that your inferior network sucks @ss

I did just get laid...last night. And I used my Verizon phone to tell everyone about it

must of been with that "apple guy" looking for his daughter on the romantic area in the hills! You know he didnt get reception to call his boys to find you, so you had your way with his daughter, and then sent pics to your friends because ur VZ phone had service! great job

44. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 22:57

No he is just not someone who makes moronic statements. You are a moron if you think that VZ is the only carrier out there that gets a good reception. They may work best where you live but that is not the case everywhere.

Obviously there are a few Verizon employees on this post. Come on guys, be honest with us, we all want to stick with Verizon but many are considering switching to the Iphone. How does this realistically compare (we'll know on the 26th so you might as well give us the pros and cons now) but equally importantly, how does the Dare stack up to the Thunder? What are you doing with the browsers on each because the Voyager browser is terrible. thanks.

when the first i phone launched, Verizon gained almost 200,000 customers that quarter, as listed on a previous post, they alo re-gained a large percentage of people who defected to the i-phone within 30 days..... not everyone in the worlds likes touch screen, in fact the majority of people are ambivilant to it... to think that the I-phone 2 will have an impact on Verizones sales or customer base is stupiidty

I was actually able to play with this device earlier this week and I must say it is a great phone. I have the voyager now and don't get me wrong I love it, but I think I would gladly turn in my voyager for the Dare. The size is much smaller than the Voyager and although it does lack an actual qwerty keyboard like the voyager the on screen keyboard is a great function. It does take a bit of time to get used to if you're used to using the voyager or env...but the features are awesome. The only thing this phone really lacks that the Voyager has is Mobile TV.

30. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 15:30

forive my stupidity but what exactly does handwriting recognition fo?

45. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 22:57

just what it says, you can use a stylus or finger and write each individual letter and it inputs it as a text if you catch my drift

33. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 16:33

I know this is very similar to the Vu with AT&T and I can tell you the toucscreen sucks. It's not very sensitive at all, you have to really press, and there's tons of times I would clearly be pressing a number on the keypad and it would enter an adjacent one. Unless there's some kind of calibration tool on the phone I dont' think I'll bother. It would drive me insane hitting the right button and the wrong one being entered in. It would be horrible for text because you would have to edit every single text you compose. Hopefully they've worked out any bugs since that model and/or added a calibration tool to make sure it's accurate.

38. Esquire0399 posted on 13 Jun 2008, 20:48

No, the Dare does not actual have very much in common with the Vu, aside from form factor. I don't think I'll ever understand why people automatically assume two phones will be similar just because of simple things like form factor.

50. (unregistered) posted on 14 Jun 2008, 01:17

the fact that they're both made by LG doesn't mean anything either?

51. Esquire0399 posted on 14 Jun 2008, 07:51

Absolutely not. By that logic, would you also claim that because both the Chocolate and the Dare are made by LG, they will be the same? LG and VZW are much closer than LG and ATT, so a lot more time was spent working out all of the issues with the Dare, not the mention the features of the Dare overshadow the features of the Vu significantly (with the exception of Mobile TV of course, but that doesn't mean anything to me). Like I said before, the only thing that these two phones really have in common is the form factor (and the touchscreen technology I guess).

53. (unregistered) posted on 14 Jun 2008, 11:00

and the voyager probably has a more similar touchscreen to the dare rather than the vu
