Been waiting awhile for a new beast from htc.
20. metoyou (Posts: 279; Member since: 19 Oct 2011)
Yup same here, i was eyeing the Note2 but still a little big and my S3 a little small :)
hopefully this will solve my problem and that 1080p screen..yum!

dont know what people are thinking.. u can´t tell a difference between 720p and 1080p on such "smal" screens..
but ur non-removable battery will tell ur 4 shure bro ;-)
and i bet the note 2 fits better in the hand and poket than this one ;-) not 2 mention the s-pen software ;-)

Can't so much with video. Can with TEXT! This could be the phone reader I've been waiting for.

Was hoping for MPQ8064 clocked at 2.0Ghz, 3GB RAM, cause Htc sense is RAM hungry takes up resources, PVR 543 MP4, 3500Mah battery... Another let down by HTC.
56. N.Reynolds (Posts: 257; Member since: 15 Feb 2011)
This isn't going to have HTC sense so you won't have to worry about that
2. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
this would destroy the note 2..........well at least it would for me
7. hung2900 (Posts: 919; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Yes, in term of how many time you have to charge it in a day.
9. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
it has a 2500 mAh battery
12. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
You say it like that's supposed to be impressive. With a 5" 1080 resolution screen & all those other top-notch specs, it's not exactly gonna win any awards in the battery life category.
15. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
i think u guys are asking for too much.....instead of bashing htc and praising samsung for a bigger battery how about you go bash samsung about their continous making of horrible plastic designs? the note 2 is 5.5 inches and this is only 5.......3100 vs 2500 on the HTC, sounds fair enough to me.....
18. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
No one's bashing anyone. It's a simple conclusion based on the facts.
22. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
yea ok dood
24. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
No need to be all butthurt about it & constantly thumb downing me, man. You can be an adult & have a logical discussion. People can disagree on things. Not a big deal.
25. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
i am man but what i see is you being in "mad" denial about samsung making bad built products and instead of admiting it "like an adult" you say accept what sammy is telling you.......and what are they telling you? that its ok to pay sum 500 - 600 dollars for a phone that has all the features in the world but a mediocre design and build AT BEST!
Grown folk are looking for something that can with stand a beating, look good, AND have around the same amount of power you have on your galaxy.....is all im sayin......dont settle for less cuz the best is yet to come from HTC n Sony as well
29. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
I'm not in denial about anything. I own a T-Mobile G2. ***GASP*** An HTC phone. Why are so worried about what I think is a good value? Samsung hasn't told me anything. They've showed me that their phones are the best value for MY money. I'm glad you speak for all grown folks & what they're looking for though.
Oh, & please...feel free to thumb down me again. You're really good at it & it really seems to drives your points across better.
33. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
dood i only brought in the terrible build of samsung because you guys seem to want to compare sammys note 2 and its big battery (and ungodly big screen 5.5inches??) into the mix so thats why i pointed out their flaws.....but ok man ill leave it alone if you cant stand a little criticism..... and i hope you're happy with your plastic build and blueish tinted amoled....
36. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
Yeah, I'll be extremely happy. Thanks :-)

ok guys we will see 1080p display with "only" 2500mah non-removable battery how the batterylife will be.
but don´t cry if its not as good as even the note 1..
some people get to know some facts first realy.. than talk..
it has nothing to do with bashing.. these are simply the facts.
47. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
if i do remember, the galaxy S3 is 4.8 inches and has a 2100 mAh battery......The HTC in this article is only .2 inches bigger but has a 2500 mAh battery.....So how is it not going to be good enough or "good as the note 1" wth?? Look nobody was saying it was going to have the "best" battery ever! all i was saying from the begining was the battery would be good enough and hold its own.......Nobody said it would "win any awards" like the dude that came at me in the above comments wants to say.......
50. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
Hi, "dude that came at you" here. You're forgetting the very important facts this HTC phone will have a 1080 screen as opposed to 720 & a much more intensive CPU/GPU combination. Also, don't forget about heavy Sense. It isn't just as simple as "it's only .2" bigger". Those 3 factors combined will eat through that extra 400 mAh like termites through wood.
52. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
ok man well jus have to see how well it holds up cuz things arent how they used to be, I do know chips require less power to operate these devices so again ive already said it wont be the best but I know it wont be the worst either like your makin it out to be.....o and please tell samsung to make better built devices for me.... :) peace

I think it all depends on what you are looking for. In terms of benchmarks or specifications, I don't think this will beat the Note II. Remember, the Note II has a 1.6 Ghz Exynos processor (vs the 1.4 Ghz Exynos found in the GSIII mentioned here in the article). It also has 2 GB of RAM vs 1.5 GB for this HTC device and 1 GB for the international GSIII. On top of that, the Note II has a 3100 mAh battery. If you are looking for software, camera, or possibly a different stylus experience (if it does come with a stylus to compete with the Note II) then the HTC may win.
However, this is still speculation as the device hasn't been announced. And like I said, it all depends on how you look at it as to whether it would "destroy" the Note II (which I also see you pointed out "at least it would for me" in your comment which is always appreciated! I was just commenting back for discussion purposes).
13. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
It's already been announced that this device will not have a stylus. Based on that & the fact that the GSIV may have a 5" screen also, I would say the line between smartphone & "phablet" just got real blurry.
16. Dr.Phil (Posts: 1064; Member since: 14 Feb 2011)
Well, it's been announced speculatively. I use rumors to get myself pumped up for a device, but I don't use them to go around saying that this is what the final product will be. So, whether it does or does not, I am going to wait and see on that one. (That also goes for the supposed 5 inch screen on the GSIV. I doubt that it would have such a screen, but I will wait and see.)
EDIT: Also, just in case you were wondering, I did not thumbs you down.
19. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it, but I thought the article I read was not just a rumor. I'm pretty sure it said this device would not have a stylus. I could be wrong, of course. I wasn't wondering, but thanks. Your maturity level obviously exceeds that of most people on this site.
35. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
I found it. Turns out you were right about it being just a rumor, but it seems like a pretty legit one. It seems to me, though, that if they were planning on adding that kind of functionality, it would be known.
42. Dr.Phil (Posts: 1064; Member since: 14 Feb 2011)
Eh, it's just hard to judge a picture like that. I keep looking at that and going back and forth as to whether I really believe that is sporting a 5 inch screen or not. I like to keep my mind open though.
58. gwuhua1984 (Posts: 1237; Member since: 06 Mar 2012)
Take a picture of something close up, and I could even say that the device will be 10" if I want to. I agree with you doc, let's wait for the official announcement.

They should keep the same size as One X, and One S-like aluminum casing will be a dream.
6. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
you know what man i was actually saying the same thing, if they would only make a phone with these specs but in a more compact size....it would definitely be a dream
5. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5704; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
i think it would be safer to assume that the Note II would be coming to Verizon before this so i'd say the Note II would be the first on Verizon to get into that range of benchmark scores. o:
8. MorePhonesThanNeeded (Posts: 645; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
Hmm, nice specs but what is with that small battery? The Note II has a bigger battery than that and that thing is already rated for some pretty poor times 6+ hours is bad for a smartphone and what's worse is the RazR MAX HD is more than likely going to come with a 3300mAh battery and get well over 10+ hours of use on a single charge. I hope that this phone gets spectacular usage out of that measly battery, I doubt it because of the 1080p screen and the 5" size. 1.5GB of RAM, why not a full 2GB? HTC get your stuff in line man, this phone has potential but already looks like it's about to trip itself up before it even gets out of the gate.
10. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
you know what the note 2 doesnt have? good build quality......stop bashing HTC im pretty sure that battery will be sufficient enough and well capable of holding its own
17. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
You constantly talk about the build quality of Samsung's phones. How many Note 2's have you held? I watched a drop test (I realize they're not terribly scientific) that featured the Note 2. It held up a lot better than the GS3. The fact of the matter is that build quality isn't the biggest factor for me when it comes to buying a phone. It's an expensive device. I don't drop it twice a day like a lot of folks seem to. If you can't keep your phone in your hand, get a nice case for it. Then, who cares about build quality? Besides, I would much rather have a phone with the best software & features that would break the first time I dropped it than a phone missing all the latest features that's built like a tank. Obviously, there's a middle ground to be found there, but I would simply buy an expensive case for my fragile phone. Now, I have the best of both worlds. Problem solved.
23. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
that sounded like a bunch of crap.......so you're telling me that you are fine with a device being prone to breaking and you are also fine with paying extra money just to keep it safe? Are you also saying you dont wanna show off your phones beauty? not too sure about that one
"Besides, I would much rather have a phone with the best software & features that would break the first time I dropped it than a phone missing all the latest features that's built like a tank."
First off, how are you going to use all those "latest features" if your phone is broken or has a cracked screen?
Also if you are talking about HTC missing features and updates well check again cuz the HTC One Series is getting an update to the latest sense 4+ as well as jellybean this month....so i dont know what you mean there
26. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
No, it's not a bunch of crap. You don't have to agree. It's just what I believe. I don't care about how beautiful my phone is. I would rather have it do what I need it to do. Maybe you should read what I said more carefully--I would have no problem spending extra money to keep my phone safe. It's an expensive device. You should take all the precautions necessary to protect it. So, I'll be using my phone just fine because it won't get cracked in its nice case.
Also, I wasn't talking about the OS. I was talking about great mutitasking. Pop-up Play. Smart Stay. S-Voice. Multi-Window, Smart Rotation. S-Beam. Air View. All the great (and not necessarily great) software features that Samsung has added to their phone to make the experience really stand out. Something that HTC is currently lacking.

"I would have no problem spending extra money to keep my phone safe. It's an expensive device. You should take all the precautions necessary to protect it. So, I'll be using my phone just fine because it won't get cracked in its nice case."
But thats the thing! with a strong build quality YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO PROTECT YOUR PHONE.......at least not from simple mistakes like droping your phone on occassions and rushing to pick it up and see if the screen got cracked or there are dents on it! thats all im sayin man
31. g2a5b0e (Posts: 3639; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
You are way too uptight about this. A $30 or $40 purchase to ensure a long lasting life for my very expensive phone is a very small price to pay. Not gonna destroy wallet. I will gladly pay it.
34. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
ummmm ok just know that htc is pretty much "cheaper" in cost than any galaxy BUT they also give you strong build for protection as well......so you do the math
27. ph00ny (Posts: 988; Member since: 26 May 2011)
having dropped my note/s2 numerous times on concrete and asphalt, i can honestly say that it holds up pretty good. Now show me this prone to breaking proof. What do you think HOX is made out of? titanium?
30. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
thats good man.......but ill guess ill stop before going to far .......jus know that samsung has more reports of dents and cracks than htc has....peace
40. ph00ny (Posts: 988; Member since: 26 May 2011)
Jeez I wonder why
Have you looked at the number of devices sold between HTC and Samsung?
41. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
you have a point BUTT.....something tells me those reports would still favor samsung if the sales where at the same level......"better build quality" would still be there if HTC "controlled" the media as much as samsung does...
53. ph00ny (Posts: 988; Member since: 26 May 2011)
perceived quality isn't the same as actual quality
metal frame under the "fragile" plastic body is how most newer samsung handsets are made. Try flexing the chassis
54. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
"perceived quality isn't the same as actual quality"
Now how much weight would that statement hold if the phone is reporting constant damages?
proof is in the pudding man sorry
21. exynos5 (Posts: 21; Member since: 17 Aug 2012)
Htc is really stingy about the RAM....Sense is really heavy...nearly 512 MB is nearly used by it on htc one x....it wouldn't be an issue since tegra has its own VRAM and I don't think adreno 320 has its own VRAM(might be wrong)...it will be using the RAM like the Mali 400mp on the gs3....1080p display nearly pushes both CPU and GPU....
38. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
you're right sense has been pretty heavy :(...... but im counting on those things to be changed in the newest updates.........Good things coming :)
32. rizevnarastek (Posts: 338; Member since: 06 Sep 2012)
This is supposed to be the hero device and I don't think they will put such a poor battery and 1.5GB RAM and only 16GB of space. Those were the specs before no doubt, but after what they did to rehaul the OneX (+) They will put a bigger battery , more ram and 64GB of storage. Especially if this is going to be the Nexus 5 ....
39. darac (Posts: 2156; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
Actually the international S3 can do more than 12000.
Mine hits over 12400.(with a class 10 SD card I think the score would be even higher )
43. tiara6918 (Posts: 1965; Member since: 26 Apr 2012)
Htc, come on and bring out that beast smartphone already! I'm sure that this phone will be one of the firsts especially with that 1080p screen. Now this phone could sell like pancakes judging by those specs and features!
48. HTCgasm (Posts: 4; Member since: 09 Oct 2012)
it would really help htc's sales if they would add a micro-sd slot
49. HTCgasm (Posts: 4; Member since: 09 Oct 2012)
what is htc's point in being stingy about specs? Can't they SEE the competition? Seriously 1.5G of ram, 2500mah battery, and the dealbreaker, no Memory card slot. I love HTC but this is getting annoying -.-
51. DarkHulk (Posts: 1; Member since: 09 Oct 2012)
ok guys, look lets put up our pee pee's and stop this pissing contest, it comes down to this, for the most part, loyalty, most of you are too bias to provide a valid argument anyways, im loyal to htc, their specs arent perfect but niether is samsungs, they're both fantastic phones and manufacturers, so lets agree to disagree i come to this page to see reviews on phones and upcomming phones to get excited about, not read about all you people having little hissy fits, its ridiculous, realize most people are gonna get it just because its HTC, just like most people get the iphone series because its apple, so just get over all youselves, and just like the dang phones good grief.
55. hameed1989 (Posts: 47; Member since: 29 Aug 2012)
I dont think this device will even come near the galaxy note 2..HTC are playing a fools game by entering this domain..even samsung got lucky when they made the Note...It cant be same for 2 companies...
Theories aside..I really do want to see the new Android OS and 12 MP camera...rest is not that awesome
59. HTCgasm (Posts: 4; Member since: 09 Oct 2012)
xperiaknight and g2a5bOe why don't you just get married already and live happily ever after? You already have the bickering down pat -.-
60. Studeo412 (Posts: 9; Member since: 04 Oct 2012)
I was waiting for this phone but there not showing me enough features so therefore ill just get the note 2. At least Samsung is showing off all the features, thats how u sell a phone not leaving ppl n suspense.
