Moneto blesses the iPhone and Android smartphones with NFC contactless payments
If you have always considered NFC payments useful, but never really wanted to swap your smartphone for an NFC-enabled one, you might be interested in what DeviceFidelity and Spring Card Systems  have to offer. The two companies have partnered up in developing Moneto – a contactless payment system that uses NFC and the MasterCard PayPass technology, yet does not require you to own a particular handset.

Here is how it works: the NFC chip and antenna are embedded within a microSD card. What, your iPhone does not have a microSD card slot? No worries, Moneto has you covered! The folks have also developed an iPhone case that holds the said NFC-capable microSD card and doubles as a protective case as well.

Grabbing one of these iPhone NFC cases will cost you $80, which includes $10 worth of purchases. It can be ordered today at the Moneto web page. If the microSD card is all you are interested in, it will be made available within the following weeks and $30 is what it will run for. For more details, feel free to check out the full press release below.
