That's like me using an article from 2008 to say android doesn't have a feature which it now does.
You do understand iOS has progressed since 2007 right? Why would you make these completely unreasonable arguments?
165. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 00:57 0
Because nothing has changed on the iphone since 2008. Oh wait a minute, didn't you guys get MMS last year? Never mind, but yes...the iPhone has progressed into an even BETTER feature phone! The best in the world in fact. But you still haven't answered my question. If all these feature phones can get apps, access the internet, and has exchange email, does that make my old LG Dare a smart phone too? What makes the iPhone a smartphone and my Dare not a smartphone, if I had the same feature back then as you do now? We won't even mention that technically had more features seeing as though it had an SD card slot, syncing and tethering capabilities.
194. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 13:43 0
The iPhone hasn't progressed since 2008? Why do you continue to make ridiculous statements?
Dare didn't have a real web browser it used wap would be one huge reason. It didn't have a real email client is two. Remosync which was a 3rd party brew app doesn't count as real exchange support.
Do you really think the dare was a better phone overall than the iPhone? If so you're so blind this discussion is over for me.
191. remixfa posted on 24 Sep 2011, 13:00 0
no, Get It Now was BREW only apps. not real apps. and they couldnt multitask nor cut n paste.
176. remixfa posted on 24 Sep 2011, 06:07 0
real exchange support
real apps, not brew apps. :)
Thats my criteria for "smart phone". Thats most people's criteria for smartphone that actually need a smartphone's capabilities.
And honestly, under that criteria, Android was not a true smartphone at launch either. While it did have exchange support, it did not have good exchange security protocols for real business use, much like apple when they first put on exchange support.
Unlike apple, that was fixed relatively quickly after launch instead of waiting 2 years.
you may not like it, but I am nothing but fair.

How about this try uploading a video to a website that only supports flash content with your iPhone.
127. taco50 (banned) posted on 23 Sep 2011, 21:12 2
Wait does android record in flash? Well no no it doesn't.
This post makes no sense.
130. Heatfan316 posted on 23 Sep 2011, 21:33 2
No you don't understand what I mean let say you record a video with your android phone you have the ability to upload that video to a website where others can view your video I know because I've done it, you can not do with an iPhone because it doesn't support flash
133. taco50 (banned) posted on 23 Sep 2011, 21:42 1
Yes I can. I can upload to Facebook YouTube and twitter just to name a few.
142. Heatfan316 posted on 23 Sep 2011, 21:59 1
I knew you where going to say that, but those websites have support for the iPhone/iPad, but a lot websites don't they support flash only and since android supports flash and if you own an android device you have the ability to do that and there is something else you can't do on your iPhone, play flash games. I know, you don't care about flash games, well some us do.
145. taco50 (banned) posted on 23 Sep 2011, 22:03 0
What flash site are you referring to? Android doesn't record videos in flash so what you're saying makes no sense. It can view flash not record in flash.
Yes you can do flash games and yes I don't care to play flash games.

No I haven't
177. remixfa posted on 24 Sep 2011, 06:08 0
i dont understand the comment.
I would assume that they could upload to any website that they could use hyperlinks to upload to. That is unless there has to be specific apple protocols on the page to allow it.
If thats true, then they can upload to anything. Viewing it would be a different story.
140. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 23 Sep 2011, 21:59 1
I doubt your feature phone iphone can outlast my Epic 4G Touch. My 1800mAh battery lasts me all day and night with heavy use. I hope people aren't texting you while you try to type out these posts. Must be real annoying to get that pop up of someone saying "SUP?" when you are trying to do something LOL.
144. taco50 (banned) posted on 23 Sep 2011, 22:02 2
Good job you still can't respond to my questions. You just resort to fanboy tactics of making fun of the phone. You have nothing intelligent to add.
And yes my iPhone battery lasts way longer than yours because iOS is optimized for battery life.
161. remixfa posted on 24 Sep 2011, 00:25 4
my battery has lasted me 3 days
if i lost, ran over, droped in water, or otherwise voided my warranty, i can call insurance and have another phone over nighted to me. if they are out of that model, i get a free upgrade to the new one.
i can have warranty devices over nighted to me for free without driving anywhere.
i can update my software on the fly.. that OTA updating is nice. i dont need to wait for a computer.
Not only can I store AND listen to all the music i want at google music for FREE no matter WHERE i got it, i can also download it for FREE because i can get it from anywhere on the internet, not just itunes.
and if i dont want to sync music, i can use as many 16gig cards as i feel like since memory is interchangeable.
My battery life is infinite. after i get my 2 days + out of one battery, i can instantly change it to another battery on the fly since they are interchangeable.
Try playing a game live, while being on a video call, while flipping back and forth to the internet, copying and pasting something into a document, flip back to the game in the exact same spot your in, email that document, while streaming music from the internet, and go back to that game and call.. without interrupting anything.
oh.. what? i guess u cant.
168. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 01:37 1
Oh, snap!!! Taco, are you okay? I know that had to hurt.
197. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 13:53 0
Lol you're an idiot and this article has proven it.
Hey taco iPhone doesn't use a micro USB charger so it's not a smartpohne.
203. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 14:54 0
Keep the personal attacks there and also the lie you just told. And if you can point out where I said a USB charger makes a phone a Smartphone, I will buy you the next iPhone 5 on my plan, and pay for all the apps you want.
Your resorting to fiction because you don't have the knowledge nor the vocabulary to counter my opinion. Buy a dictionary or a thesaurus, spend a few weeks studying the history of cellphones, then come back with something a little stronger than childish name calling and "nah, nah, nah-nah, nah, nah"! That doesn't work on me.
204. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 15:27 1
It's called sarcasm wem.
You're arguments are just as ridiculous as that one though.
206. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 15:39 0
Sorry, your claims are usually so far fetched, it's really hard to tell when you're serious or when you're using sarcasm.
Everything else, still valid. And you still havent provided me with any definition of a smartphone. Don't keep taking on the role of antagonist. Try contributing to the conversation sometimes. Be the adult you claim you are.
212. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 16:36 0
You still haven't answered the question of what function you can do that I can't. You dont answer a question with a question.
221. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 22:01 0
Like I said, ops can't do word wrap on safari. Check your phone and see. Now can you answer my question or just keep avoiding the subject? Man up and answer the question. What makes a phone a smartphone?
213. remixfa posted on 24 Sep 2011, 16:40 0

208. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 15:42 0
I doubt you'd pay for apps. Pirating is your mo as you're comments often point to.
209. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 16:17 0
Not true, so there goes the lying part again, and thus the reason I can never take you serious. You lie too much. You're a liar and i'll prove it again! iPhone 5, on my account, for free. Now find the comment where I said anything close me admitting to pirating apps. I'll give you a whole year to find the proof.
211. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 16:35 0
You said you pirated iWork. You also don't want to use iTunes because you don't want to pay for apps.
227. Whateverman posted on 24 Sep 2011, 23:40 0
I don't have iWorks on my computer, and I have an iTunes account. Try another lie and this time, provide a link to prove it. I'll even give you a hint, check the article about iOS and Android being safer than PCs. You have 364 more days left.

I can do everything you listed here on my iPhone.
I understand fandroids are cheap and don't want to pay the artist for their hard work.
Warranty really? That's not a feature but ok Apple has warranty and insurance also so I don't see your point. Verizon will overnight me a warranty iPhone as well
You're straight up lying about 3 days of battery life unless the phone sat on a shelf untouched.
You just prove my point of being a fanboy. You guys take the argument everywhere. Make false claims that iPhone can't do things it can and list things that have nothing to do wih anything like warranty.
200. remixfa posted on 24 Sep 2011, 14:09 0
lol, can you send me a video of your iphone doing that paragraph of stuff as proof please? go ahead, ill hold my breath while i wait.
is your new thing calling everyone a fanboy to make it look like your not somehow? calmed down or not you are still one of the most biased "fanboys" on this site... lol
wait, so you think an iphone4 and an SGS1 cant get similar battery life? They run ON THE SAME HARDWARE. Yea, I am smart enough to tweak my phone and save juice.. its totally possible. when PA tested the SGS2 it got almost more than 2 days of life out of the box with regular usage. What do u think it could get with some good tweaking?? lol.
dont be so blind to the world around you.. geesh.
205. taco50 (banned) posted on 24 Sep 2011, 15:28 0

182. protozeloz posted on 24 Sep 2011, 07:02 0
Yes, it has bluetooth it can share files. But I think it's limited, can't tell much since every iphone I know has being jailbroken.

Concidering the amount of bada news, i dont know how he could say they werent at least middle of the road about bada.

i dont remember, it was one of the articles i read twards the bottom of the page earlier today.. it may still be at the bottom, or it may be on page 2. It was just kind of random... especially since all the attention bada has been getting since he has been trumpeting it like a mad man.

I sooooo wanted to be a WeBOS fan boy. I would have been glad to get all the thumbs downs for being blind to it's problems and trolling other threads, picking fights, taking names, making up my own stats to back up my made up arguments. Oh, well. Lost opportunity.
Every OS can stand on it's own, but the market exploded and what was hot continues to be the front runners. I think the future holds room for a couple of market specific OS's (Like Blackberry with Buisness, a smaller OS catching on in a certain region of the world, maybe an OS that caters to just a high end segment of the populace) but overall, if there is to be a solid third or maybe fourth OS for general consumers they had better make the mark soon. Unless Apple or Google turn dumb, between 50% - 60% of the market seems to be spoken for. There is only so much growth left in the mobile market. Then it will be a little late to make an impact.
89. Hgard (unregistered) posted on 23 Sep 2011, 17:14 1
Samsung app store 40,000 apps?
For Bada the Wave I or II there are 6900 apps in the store, over 3000 of those are themes, and a large proportion of the rest are duplicates and useless.
The scarcity in decent apps for Bada is killing the OS.

Looking at that Piper-Jaffrey graph shown under "The Field" portion, I'm wondering why it predicts Android to have such a drop in market-share after 2012. Any specific reasons?
113. MichaelHeller posted on 23 Sep 2011, 20:14 1
oh, i had my colors mixed up when looking at that graph. This graph is from that silly article about how Google would start using Motorola as an exclusive provider of Android and kill the ecosystem, leading to "other" (aka WP7) taking over the market. I should find a better graph showing Symbian dying...
114. SoopaManLuv posted on 23 Sep 2011, 20:28 0
I have 2 agree with tha article. Its all personal preference. Although I'm pro Android I still think tha iPhone's r good smartphones as well. But since I like customization, Android suits me better. So in tha end its all about user preference. Sn: all tha other OS's have alot of catching up 2 do. Jus sayin...
