Monolith announced the sequel to the highly-acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be making its debut on PC and consoles on October 10. Until then, iOS users can get a taste of what's to come by downloading the game, called Middle-earth: Shadow of War, on their devices. Well, sort of.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is only part of the same universe, but its scope is much more focused on a mobile experience, so you can understand that there will be a lot of gameplay features missing that will be included in the PC/console game.

Nevertheless, publisher Warner Bros. promises a game that will allow players to battle their way across hostile regions of Mordor. You'll be able to control your squad's combat tactics in real-time and release powered-up special attacks when needed.

The famous Nemesis System will be part of the mobile game as well, which means that you can dominate an Orc chief and bolster your army rather than just kill him. Keep in mind though that each Orc you will face will remember your decisions, so each player will enjoy a different experience based on their choices.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War has been recently soft-launched in the Philippines, so if you have an App Store account for that country, you can go ahead and download it for free.
