Microsoft says that Windows Phone 8 devices do have "an upgrade path going forward"

It's not something that should need to be said explicitly, but after leaving Windows Phone 7 handsets in the lurch with the release of Windows Phone 8, Microsoft has needed to reassure its user base. And, that reassurance came today. Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Phone 8 devices do have "an upgrade path going forward"...

As a WP 7 user, I am ready to see action on this, not the same promises made when WP7 replaced Windows Mobile in 2010.
As BlackBerry has been really good about updating their devices to BB07, I will spot them that BB10 users will not be left behind. Apple has been amazing about supporting their devices.
This is an area that both Microsoft and Google can, and need, to improve in. Android Premium devices usually get supported for at least 1-2 upgrades, it is their mid-range and lower grade offerings left wanting. And until we see the first generation of WP 8 devices still supported in 2-3 years from now, MS truly has little to no credibility on this.

Yeah it did sucks that WP7.5 wasn't updateable to some form of 8 or with more enhancements but as an ex Sprint Arrive user we never even got the KB fix so I wasn't expecting much. I'm glad I made the jump for the Lumia 920. I would like to see MS be way more aggressive though. They have money, push the heck out of it. People love the XBOX market it with that.

The main reason I've been apprehensive about adopting windows phone 8 has now been alleviated. But there are many other reasons why I'm still nervous about it....Thumb me down if you want but I'll wait a few months before I check out a WP8 device.....

No harm in promising something that cannot be coming in next 2 years :D

F@%K MICROSOFT and there stupid faces cause I have no real reason to believe they won't do the same thing to WP8 after a few years But there's no use in complaining about what most people knew it might happen and might not even stop, Just get a different OS until you find the one you like.......................... iPhone=Female Phone (iPhoneSucks)
