Microsoft presentation slips in October launch date for Windows Phone 7

If loose lips sink ships, Microsoft VP for Marketing, Mich Mathews might have sunk the Titanic. During the Cannes Lions advertising conference, Mathews was introducing the GM of Live Labs, Kostas Mallios who was in attendance to show how Windows Phone 7 handles advertising. The Microsoft exec said, "I'm gonna ask rock star Kostas...to come on. And Kostas has brought with him Windows Phone 7 which we launch this October." This dovetails perfectly with the leaked roadmap of carrier Telstra. The operator, as we reported, showed a Windows Phone 7 running HTC Desire (a mock-up version, anyway) with an October launch date. When you see two "coincidences" pointing to the same month, it sure raises the odds that the Redmond based firm's new mobile OS will be released in October, a bit before the 2010 holiday season that most had expected.

Who cares? Which phones will all the good lil' kiddies be looking for in their stockings this holiday season, Android & iOS 4? or Windows Phone 7? I can hear the toilet flushing on Microsoft's mobile division...

Actually most kiddies don't care as long as they can use it to text. The average 7th Grader could give a crap less about apps and OS's.

Are you serial! Been on a Jr. or H.S Campus lately? LOL Lots and lots and lots of kids are toting smartphones around. I work with kids and I see mucho of them walking around with iphones, G1's etc, droids etc....They only use them to text, but they havem em LOL
