microsoft's phone may not have the following:
PW,PM HD+,Nokia Maps,Nokia Drive, other nokia features so why choose MS more than 920 anyway?

This was expected after Nokia's butt-headed pricing strategy for the Nokia Lumia 920. Its been sold at 25% higher price than the Galaxy S3 making Lumia 920 thee costliest phone! And based on what?...An unproven OS, supposedly killer hardware which by all means is commonplace now and will be midrange hardware come January or is it the awesome reviews Nokia got by showing fake video?

The way I see it "Nokia Screwed Nokia!"
Way to go Microsoft! Hardware and software integration is the future after all!
+1 to MS

midrange? Puremotion HD+,PureView that was shown a real video too and engadget's videos and pics and even though there is ''only'' dual core which for wp8 is enough to match a quad core android phone for sure

PureMotion HD+ is only an advancement in the LCD department... AMOLEDs have a lower refresh rate than a second! And you think a dual core is enough to match a Quad Core on Android? lol.. okay..

well... every display technology has it's own flaws... many amoled screens have color tint especially in white areas, amoled color spectrum is not as accurate as IPS LCD (that's why all highend TVs are plasmas or LCDs and all professional graphic monitors are IPS or SPVA), power consumption of amoled screen is higher than LCD while displaying bright colors, many amoled screens are oversaturated because dynamic contrast is enabled by default (this is something that many people don't know) what can cause posterization and highlight clipping. I would prefer IPS screen over amoled, just check comparision of iphone5 IPS LCD vs galaxy S3 amoled screen. also it seems there is a problem with amoled technology to maintain as high ppi as for IPS LCD. AFAIK there is no 720p amoled screen under 4.7" and so on... I would say it depends on what do you want from your screen... If you are looking for fast pitch black screen go for amoled, if you are looking for accurate and extremely detailed screen go for IPS LCD.

"...do some research on the tech behind these screens..then speak..."

Actually you should do some researches and then speak because at the moment OLED based screens has more disadvantages than advantages and those disadvantages are pretty essential !

I have little reason to believe this to be true. Microsoft is paying too much money to Nokia to also develop its own phones.

And yet they released their own Windows RT tablet. If they're in the hardware business, they ARE in the hardware business.

I think the question is not, if Microsoft comes with its own phones. The question is, what will be the next step. Notebooks?

You can't call something of your own if you don't own the parts, same goes for Apple. Samsung owns its parts but not the OS, except for bada which isn't really big. Lol just throwing mud around haha

I hope that MS comes out with their phone, at least we have more than one giant on wp side and finally it will be for all users benefit.

I wouldn't be suprised if they did eventually release a phone since windows 8 and wp8 is supposed to help connectivity between phones, tablets, and computers. They already make two of them so why not go for all of them.

the only thing I have in mind is both Nokia and MS have magnificent R&D! What will happen? Will this boost innovation? Will this kill Nokia? Or will Microsoft fail with their device? Oh God, tons of possibilities!

"Will this boost innovation?" - Yes!

"Will this kill Nokia?" - No!

"Or will Microsoft fail with their device?" - Maybe yes or maybe no (50/50).

Nokia should fire Elop. I think if Nokias had spent time on innovating Symbian FP2 and Meego instead of WP, Nokia would be have a great success than now.

Symbian FP2 + meego that can run Symbian Apps and Android App = killer OS or SymbianMee. It sounds great. But really regreat for nokia, now, you are walking to kill yourself and Nokia fan.
