Microsoft lying about screen sizes in iPad vs Windows 8 tablet comparison

0. phoneArena 24 May 2013, 02:31 posted on

Microsoft's reputation isn't really top-notch, but there's probably a good reason for this. Interestingly, the company isn't willing to stop reminding us of that. A great example is a recent ad by the Redmond-based tech giant, which is trying to portray Apple's iPad as an inferior product to one of the Windows 8-powered tablets...

MS started at its very beginnings with Gates stealing from Jobs to create their first OS. It's no surprise that the company still lies about everything today.

Apple stole the GUI from xerox, and asked for msoft help in building it since the only way to build it was through BASIC, and then msoft did their own version of GUI.
when Steve jobs was faced with this fact after he said msoft stole apples GUI, he said quoting from Picasso, "good artist copy, gr8 artist steal !!!

no, its a fail of the author of the article....the article is ridiculously defending incapable iToy with:

1) no free copy
2) default app selection
3) just an iConboard

= a dumb device :)

and W8RT no one buys = a few major manufacturers no longer sell this because of poor demand :)

the article quality = zero :)

This article isn't defending the iPad in any way. It just states a clear fact that the iPad's screen area is actually larger than the Asus's tab and that there are third party 'office' apps that work pretty well.
Why can't you fanboys accept the facts? Butthurt much?

How is this a lie, they said the screen has a larger diagonal which is the truth,if you want to bash Microsoft atleast bash it for credible reasons and not with this bulcr*p of an article. This article is a fail, and Ray.S just lost his credibility for anything that he will ever write.

Agree. Another bad example of free Journalism. Highly opinionated but posted as news.http://www.phonearena.com/news/Lumia-920-camera-beats-iPhone-5-and-Galaxy-S-III-in-low-light...-in-a-Microsoft-ad_id43340

The point is the images are scaled differently in favor of the Asus tab. The avg person will just look at the picture comparison since they can't visualize what a 0.4" diff in diagonal means, specially when different aspect ratios are involved.

And that is the essence of the claim of dishonesty being made against MS. They would have a more valid claim to make if they stressed that Office is not available on the iToys. The Office wannabes with maybe the exception of Google Docs, just aren't exactly ready for prime time.

But it is much easier to take a cheap shot and lie about screen size, which is what MS did.

"Of course, the uneducated viewer will simply look at the diagonals, thinking that this is the ultimate metric that illustrates screen size, and that's what Microsoft's probably hoping for here."

The only uneducated are the readers who will read this article and believe your buffoonary idiotic crap of an article. Nuff said.

ZOMG they lied!!! What's next, Nokia is lying about Samsung and Apple fanboys? It was supposed to be funny not dead accurate even though if there's a lawsuit, Microsoft can argue that they meant diagonal size and MS Office, in which case the commercial wasn't wrong. Seems like AppleInsider took it a little too seriously.

It is very normal for any tech company to lie in advertisements and MS is not different than the others. Just like Apple said in their latest iPhone Ad that 'More people use iPhone to listen to music to any other phone'.... Again that is not true either.... If Ads were meant to be dead right than all ads would suck...

Oh Ray, you’re always a die hard apple fan. get a life please.

Hah, they wouldn't be lying if they were going of straight numbers. The numbers 10.6 > 9.7. They probably didn't mention anything about screen real estate, just how diagonal the plot is.
