Microsoft lets Artist Bios feature become accessible outside the U.S.

0. phoneArena posted on 07 Oct 2012, 20:09

Those outside the U.S. had been unable to access the Zune Windows Phone Artist Bios, that is until now; the bios can be seen in the Zune Hub at the Artist page and could be a sign that Microsoft is interested in tearing down barriers although not all countries can receive the feature...

It is a fun little feature I didn't know wasn't available everywhere. I like my Zune, soon to be XBOX Music, player. Glad they are expanding all the features. Shouldn't have taken them this long.

As I see it, this feature is tied to Zune. Where you could buy for example music. Due to current agreement, people outside US are not entitled to buy anything in Zune. Microsoft made a new deal which will allow buying music even outside the US. Same situation happened with Apple and its iTunes.

Finally! Im from croatia (but i use the uk marketp... erm store...) and i got it. More important to me is the artist art that comes with this, so now my zune player is all alive unlike before. It took msoft only 2 years to fix this :-\

Taking too long??? You don't know the half of it. Still not available in Japan and I am not a happy camper. This is a feature that is not dependent upon contracts, distribution, etc. Just pure and simple laziness.

I just made a purchase through Windows 8 with my US Zune log in, paid with Paypal just as I should be able to do. Now, I COULD reset my phone, switch to that ID, lose all my paid apps, backtrack on email and SMS and photos and other items and HAVE this already, BUT, no way to pay for apps here, as as far as I know my MS points and my Paypal WILL not be available in WPhone. Illogical. The only Marketplace purchases here are 2 year old videos and apps (most).

Color me waiting still. Hopefully, Windows 8 will be the game changer.
