There was a time when developing software for any kind of machine was a task requiring lots of time and mad coding skills. Thankfully, these days are gone now and SDKs are relatively easy to get the hang of with a little patience. However, building an app, albeit just a basic one, can be even simpler, requiring no programming skills at all. Microsoft just launched its App Studio online tool for creating Windows Phone applications with as little effort as possible...

This will only lead to the addition of lots of simple but feature-lacking apps in the app store. But, anyway, since quantity is more important than quality to so many people out there, i guess it's fine. Over 80% of the apps in Google Play are utter garbage or duplicates of something else similar.

MS have some pretty strict hurdles you need to jump before an app is published. Obviously this is a dumbed down object oriented program with no access to the XAML or C# code, but if the others are doing it, then why shouldn't Microsoft ??

I thought that WP might profit from better apps is their store - quality rather than quantity...
