Microsoft knocks Google's Android for "copying" Apple's iOS
0. phoneArena 29 Oct 2012, 12:52 posted on
It's an accusation that we've heard before, mostly from Steve Jobs, but Microsoft has also taken the time to jab at Google and its Android OS. During the announcement for Windows Phone 8, Joe Belfiore took a swing at Android, claiming the OS copied Apple's UI and that design in those companies has "stagnated"...

Widgets were Microsoft innovations in windows mobile its not Google's.

I have checked Wikipedia and it says Xerox first introduced widget not MS.
And I'm sure Android is the major force that made widget as it is today.

just like nobody wants an ipad and everyone wants a surface. Until WP makes a dent in the market share and gets up to par with IOS and android, MS can say whatever they want but atm it's all bark and no bite.

Thats funny because microsofts wp ui menu looks very like the menu ui Samsung had on its linux m1 and h1 '360' phones from 4 years ago. Many have also likened the current wp tiles system to commodore 64 era block graphics! Its the root of its major unpopularity

and widgets date back in 13th century :P

MS, talk smack when your market share at least is in the double digits. Until then, shut up.
27. parkwaydr (Posts: 572; Member since: 07 Sep 2011)
Haha, so Microsoft just now is using live wall papers, when my TWO YEAR OLD htc evo had been able to do that since I got the phone, yet andriod is stagnant.
I'll say it again, sell some phones before you run your mouth.

Not the live wallpaper of android its about live information.
35. ogy_dogy (Posts: 453; Member since: 29 Jun 2012)
live wallpaper as in live tile, not as in an animated piece of s.... that is useless and sucks the life out of your battery...
45. Lboogey6 (Posts: 245; Member since: 31 Jan 2012)
I believe he was referring to the lock screen giving info which there are live tiles that do the same and we can't really talk about battery life until its released
46. parkwaydr (Posts: 572; Member since: 07 Sep 2011)
Ok your point? The fact remains that andriod has had this capability for two+ years. Brag all you want, but at the end of the the day, every new little feature has or can already be iterrated in android. Enjoy playing keep- up.

Can't beat em, make em stoop down to your level? Bad move MS. :[

M$ you're such a joke the only reason you're so jealous of ANDROID is because it's better than you and iOS plus it have better hardware and processor (opinion in processor). You ONLY SUE ANDROID because you're afraind youre not getting too many developers making apps for your Windows OS even though it's nice but get your head out of your a$$ and you're stupid ego is too big.
44. rusticguy (Posts: 2811; Member since: 11 Aug 2012)
I have said it in past and would say it again ... when it comes to hatred against Open Source Apple and M$ are "Siamese twins" and both talk same old crap. Oh so someone is out of the cage now at M$ :D
47. kanagadeepan (Posts: 591; Member since: 24 Jan 2012)
Yes, Live Tiles are different... Trying to be ALWAYS UGLY is of-course DIFFERENT from rest of others.. Thats what M$ has been doing with TILES, imho...
54. haseebzahid (Posts: 1775; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
the point of customization comes in when the stock OS is ugly and pathetic + fragmented all over the mobile. i seens all these OS and android is most random Wp is atlest well sorted easy to find stuff no matter how long the list is.But over 5 years randomness has become trend u can stay in android OS + android articles and stop showing up on wp articles this shows ur either not satisfied with ur beloved Android or u dont have anything to do other then bashing
56. Aeires (unregistered)
You are mad, bro. No question about it.
Not only talking hot air with your nonsense about Android, but it was MS who was doing the bashing here. If you don't like Android, that's fine, just stop making up nonsense to build up your Windows phone.
71. haseebzahid (Posts: 1775; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
u are the first andoid person i think who actually did not trolled. I found most android guys only trolling. and if u seens wp in action nothing is nonesense it is well designed and solid stuff i tried android but found out it is no differnt from symbian S60 UI so i never bothered it yet every one forced me to buy android like i am using their money to buy wp so i actully dont hate android but the stupid Fandroids around me, i have not that big issue with android i just hate noobs trying to impose their favourate stuff on others

The only thing I don't like about WP is the tiles. Other than that, it's a great OS, just young and lacking a few things due to its age. It'll get there though, it's come a long way so far. I actually recommended a WP to a co-worker. His wife was looking at it or an iPhone so I recommended a Lumia. She loves it.

No, the point of is to set your phone up how YOU want it, make it completely original. Enjoy your blocks.
70. haseebzahid (Posts: 1775; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
yeah i know what ever u say a COPY is a COPY and a Troll is a troll :P and u do get my point stock android is ugly so u have to customize it
51. haseebzahid (Posts: 1775; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
i say even MS is wronge about Android they didnt copied from IOS they both copied from symbian this UI existed in symbian before either of them was born both are copies :P atlest MS is bold enough to think from its own stuff unlike these thugs

Microsoft just serve themselves a good ol'fashion can of Whoop-A$$
66. Sniggly (Posts: 6490; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Right. So... Microsoft... You just make me more determined to divorce myself from your products the more you speak. Keep talking trash as sales of Windows 8 tank.
74. dsDoan (Posts: 212; Member since: 28 Dec 2011)
I was always open to the idea of Windows Phones, and potentially considering one for myself.
Was. Microsoft just messed that up.
79. blade19 (Posts: 58; Member since: 29 Apr 2011)
They just want to stir the pot. MS has failed and will fail in the mobile arena. The only thing that will save them is marketing this stuff really well and hard, and by using the used car salesman approach. It's like those Honda commercials... where the car salesmen tells the couple aahhh don't look at the odessy it is not worth it and the couple turns around and says ahhh we'll go across the street to the Honda dealership and take the honda odessy instead....
86. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 2964; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
Mxyptlk...you only support Microsoft now because they say Android copied iOS. You won't be here otherwise!
And i agree with networkdood.
92. bayusuputra (Posts: 941; Member since: 12 Feb 2012)
MS and Apple tell the world that Google copied.. But Google never said anything about them copying android features, Google is too busy with innovations..
And guess what, who's got the most advance Mobile OS now?
Yeah, silence is golden..
