From the first day E-flop was appointed as Nokia's CEO and called Symbian or MeeGo the burning platform, I immediately realised that he is a trojan horse came from microbitch to destroy Nokia.
Shame on you Finnishs ... You offered your legened glory free to the murders and betrayed billions of Nokia's fans.

I averse Microsoft .. Still have faith in the rest of Nokia to revive and come back by 2016
Very very sad.

you have a very disturbed idea of reality.

Meego had no phone to show them when elop arrived, symbian was a mess.

Nothing will change this, this is from the mouth of employees LOOOONG before Elop arrived. But go on, post your ignorance.

I think you're the one who's misconstruing reality a bit here.

Meego had the N9 already out. Elop even showed it off. The N950 was its successor waiting in the wings but Elop killed it and limited N9 sales to places like Russia, even though the media loved the phone.

Symbian was a mess but Symbian^3 had strong sales. Nokia's plan was to have Meego at the high end and Symbian to the mid range. Series 40 was for the ultra low end. Elop came in and ruined that.

conspiracy:

what if, nokia is really the one who is playing with microsoft ditching their dying flatform and giving their "trash" to microsoft, and use the money for something revolutionary in 2016, and then windows phone will struggle, and the nokia employees who are layed off and still currently working will jump back to nokia, and microsoft will be left with employees that has no experience yet. remember, they can't use nokia anymore in 2016, so there's something really going on, a plan, a comeback with vengeance. :D 2016 is a long time to optimize or develop the sailfish os and make it perfect.. :)

Microsoft must be run by monkeys or something...They now only have their OS on 14% of all devices covering Desktop, laptop, and mobile, maybe less. Windows 8 is terrible, and they're removing mobile user's freedom to use their main competitor's search by default. Did they think it would hurt Google by limiting the functionality of a Windows phone?

Information for people who cannot read.

"Windows' share of the shipped device market last year"

Right there in your link. Shipped does not equal market usage or as you put it, all devices 'now'.

No, there are billions upon billions of pcs around the world that rely on MS services, government etc. So no, right info for a yearly statement, but not for a overall reality.

Right now there is still more devices running MS services than any other OS in the world.

Microsoft's business model is Ctrl C + Ctrl V. They have no innovation whatsoever. Google as a business is expanding in every possible direction, OS, robotics, medical industry, aeronautics, quantum computing, mobile, ISP, satellites, countless web properties. They're the best search engine in the world. Bing, Yahoo, and Ask don't even come close. To be honest, anything Google does sets the bar for the rest of the respective industry. Apple with its iOS is the only thing that is a challenge to their products.

I'll go ahead and repost the link I did above stating that Microsoft's OS is now only on 14% of devices. They're simply a shell of their former self due to lack of innovation and refusing to change with the rest of the world.

yes but killing s40 , s30 and feature phones is a damn wrong decision
not everyone can deal with or want a smartphone
especially because of weak battery life
what one has to do if he wants a phone with good battery and that's it ? buy a 500 $ note 3 ?
Asha phones are useful for the people who only want the phone to call or send sms and barely take photos and they're DIRT Cheap and of high quality unlike CHEAP Smartphones

This shouldn't surprise anyone. This does bring into question the need for Nokia's brand name however, which was supposed to be used on the Asha phones. Does this now mean they will remove the name faster than anticipated?

Nokia only purchased the Lumia and Asha brand names, they can only use the Nokia name for a limited time. Nokia still owns the Nokia brand. I suspect Microsoft will completely remove all references to Nokia on Lumia devices within a year.
