Elop was planted with the motive of having "MicroKia" a wholly owned subsidiary of M$. Baby steps but that's the direction Nokia is headed to as long as ELOP stays.

Yea. Its just business for microsoft. Microsoft wants the patents, wants the manufacturing capabilities, and wants various software platforms like Nokia Maps to have all for their own. Sad stuff for Nokia fans though or people who are fans of a competitive marketplace.

This is something that could really hurt Apple if it's done right.

Don't forget: they're against Google and Microsoft as well!
I really hope Google and Microsoft get into some kind of treaty thing and destroy everything in their path.

Well Apple and M$ asre old time friends. They will team up if needed to fight against GOOG. Both Apple and M$ belong to Anti Open Source Mafia. Long back Apple helped M$ in some african nation in order to route out mandriva linux from some govt project.

MS is one pretty funny company, they are pretty good at getting people to pay for services that are free elsewhere. Live is the biggest scam I have ever seen, you are paying these money to play a game online, which on a competing platform is free, people argue that Live is more robust that's why they don't mind paying. So why is Live now littered with advertisements? I don't see that on the competing platform, but the supporters of MS 360 won't hear any of it and wholeheartedly agree with MS. So where are the options for those who don't see Live as a great deal because it basically holds online gaming for ransom. MS is just a company who used to be the biggest tech company is now afraid of being demoted even further, scrambling to get their hands into everything that they once saw as trivial.

These guys are not doing it for the consumers, it's all for their bottom line. Nokia signed a pact with the devil, such a stupid move to put all your eggs in one basket, I have no idea how the stupid shareholders even thought that going all in on an untrusted OS with little to no market share, expect Nokias prowess in building phones to allow them to come back from their downward spiral? This will go down in history as one of those blunders of the 21st century and one that shows how stupid humans can actually get when they are flustered and nervous.

why oh why? this is bad for nokia but not bad to other manufacturers!

coz nokia put all its egg on WP and they throw away symbian and MeeGo which has a potential to destroy android!-- a linux that isnt complicated but brilliant and elegant!

but im not against about microsoft making a surface phone! but its just bad for nokia themselves!
