The same way that the iPhone and Android killed consoles? Or the same way that consoles killed the PC? We're still gonna get the 720, and that's not going to change because of a tablet. I'm excited about the device, but lets be realistic.

Lol what are you talking about?!?
A ) this tablet shouldn't run phone based games.
It should bring hardware gaming controls and run Xbox games
B) if powerful enough and also running windows, such tablet could COMPLETELY replace consoles, and then some

You want to play your games on a big TV, with an Xbox controller?
Well, imagine a device that's connected to that TV and controller.
It's a sleek, light, small console, just with a 7 inch touchscreen, full blown OS and hardware controls, that can be used for standalone gaming also
THAT is what your Xbox 720 should look like if you ask me.
Why to make a static piece of boxy hardware when you can have this?
The standard concept of a console is incredibly obsolete. A complete needless limitation.

Because that "static piece of boxy hardware" is considered more than a gaming console these days. The next gen xbox will be used for more than just games, and streaming digital media. How about watching Blu-Ray & DVD movies? How about hooking up portable media and browsing its content (without having to disconnect other usb based devices to open up the port)? While I think there will be a place for this device, I don't believe that it will be an absolute replacement for the console. A 7" tablet will be devoid of a disc drive, will have a limited amount of ports, and will be more limited on processing/graphics power. Going off of your reasoning, the desktop pc should have been killed by the laptop years ago.

It would be great if you could play XBOX games on the tablet with other players who are on their TVs....
