Microsoft commissions Touch Dimensions to create 20 free games for Windows Mobile
Almost in an unusual move to just showcase now some of the gaming potential for the Windows Mobile platform, Microsoft has commissioned a gaming start-up based in Singapore to create 20 games for the aging platform. The company, Touch Dimensions, is credited for developing “natural” interfaces for gaming where they will now be given the task of developing about 20 games that will be available for free through the Windows Phone Marketplace. Rather than attacking the task with lengthy games, Touch Dimensions will instead create casual games that will include things like “a digital sketchpad to a Whack-A-Mole-type game that lets you smack mosquitoes to oblivion.” Sure it's nice for Microsoft to throw money to its long time flagship mobile platform, but it would equally be nice to showcase something in the future with Windows Phone 7.
