Foxconn parent Hon Hai has agreed to enter into a patent licensing deal with Microsoft that will protect the manufacturer and allow it to use Microsoft's patents for Android and Chrome OS for devices such as smartphones, tablets and televisions; while terms of the agreement were not released, Redmond based Microsoft is expected to receive royalties...

Is Hon Hai going to be selling its own line of Android smartphones? If they were manufacturing for another end-seller, they wouldn't need to license from MS. Example is Apple - its license to the MS portfolio extends to its contract manufacturers (of which Hon Hai is one).
If so, Apple will be changing contract manufacturers before too long.

I wonder what the terms of the deal are. What patents does Microsoft have that a manufacturer would need to license?
