Not on sale until February 9th, some retail stores have started putting up displays with the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet so that potential buyers can test out the slate to see if it something that they want to lay out the money for; the tablet will be available for $899 in a 64GB configuration or $999 for 128 GB...

No offense but, don't you guys think that this is the heaviest operating system ever? 64gb of storage and only 25gb available? Exactly how many geeks want that heavy?

You could always back up the recovery partition onto a USB drive and make use of that space.

Do remember that this is Windows and not your iPod OS. It can run pretty much anything you want and its a full portable tablet PC and not a crippled app companion.

I do agree its too much, but you have to look at the pro's of that

the 64 and 128 GB has a $100 difference. If you feel it's heavy spend a $100 dollar more. If you think it still heavy there are a lot of brands to choose from like Asus transformer book tx300. If you think its heavy buy iOS you'll never get satisfied anyway.

Are you saying that the Microsoft Surface weight 3.5 pounds? "...Microsoft Surface Pro weighs two more pounds than the RT...." Please double check the fact.

You are correct. The tablet itself weighs two pounds and is heavier than the RT. Thanks for the heads-up!

although the Microsoft Surface Pro may not be the cheapest Windows 8 tablet computer. it is the one that will have the best set up for how Microsoft wants windows 8 Pro to work on a Tablet Folks notice it has an Intel I5 cpu so far most reviewers have pointed out that Windows 8 runs great in devices that use Intel i5 or i7 cpu or a good AMD cpu that has the same rating as the inteli5 or i7. intel Atom cpu windows 8 tablets are slower in tests. so if I could I would go buy a windows 8 tablet with an intel i5 or i7 cpu because tests have shown they run Windows 8 very well.
