Microsoft Lumia 950 XL gets its third pre-order price cut in the U.K.

At the rate that the pre-order price for the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is being cut, Amazon U.K. will soon have to pay you to take the phablet off its hands. We're being facetious of course, but the truth is that the price has been cut three times. Including today's £5 haircut, a total of £65 ($98 USD) has been wiped off the pre-order price of Microsoft's high-end phablet. The phone will currently cost you £464.99 ($703 USD), a 12.2% discount from the original price of £529.99 ($801 USD).

Amazon expects to ship the phone starting December 12th. Available in black and white, buyers can purchase the handset from Amazon U.K., making installment payments monthly. By the way, the price cut does not affect the smaller Microsoft Lumia 950 which remains priced at £419.99 ($635 USD).

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is equipped with a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 1440 x 2560 QHD screen. That works out to a pixel density of 515ppi. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, equipped with an octa-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. Those seeking additional storage can use the 200GB capacity microSD slot that is available on the phone.

The 20MP camera on the back features OIS, and a 5MP front-facing snapper shoots selfies, and handles video chats. A 3340mAh battery keeps the hamster's wheel turning, and Windows Phone 10 Mobile is pre-installed. With the Continuum feature and the Display Dock, you can turn your Lumia 950 XL into a desktop PC. And with the new AppComparison, Android users can see which of their favorite apps are available from the Windows Store if they plan on making the switch.
