MetroPCS says it's time for you to cut the cord
We have recently reported on the success regional carrier MetroPCS has been having because of the poor economy as many cellphone users are dumping their contracts and replacing them with unlimited, flat-rate monthly calling plans from networkers like Metro. The company thinks it can continue the momentum by not only grabbing your cellular account but aiming for your landline account as well. The company has just launched their new GroupLINE program which allows up to 5 members of a family to receive phone calls over a shared phone number while each continues to have their own individual cell line. Any caller can call the GroupLINE number and reach all of the subscribers on the plan simultaneously. The caller will be connected with all of the subscribers who pick up the phone and the GroupLINE members will be able to talk to each other during the call.. The plan, which also includes shared voicemail access, costs $5 per month and is available to MetroPCS subscribers using the Family Plan in all markets served by the carrier. Over 60% of the networker's account holders have replaced their home phone with their MetroPCS cellphone and GroupLINE is another way that the networker's subscribers can save money and stay connected while cutting the symbolic umbilical cord of a typical landline phone.
