MetroPCS launches automated voice mail-to-text service
Following a page out of Google Voice, MetroPCS is now offering their customers a new service that enables voice mails to automatically be converted into text messages. The automated voice mail-to-text service offers customers the convenience of discretely being able to read the content of their voice mail – which essentially eliminates the requirement of dialing into your voice mail and writing down information regarding them. The $3 add-on feature will supply customers either having messages translated through SMS or email and makes MetroPCS one of the first US wireless carriers to integrate this technology. Roger D. Linquist, president & CEO of the board for MetroPCS said, “ Customers are keenly interested in the latest wireless innovation combined with the greatest value. Automated conversion of voice mails to text is the biggest innovation to voice mail in decades. By converting messages to text and sending along as email or SMS, MetroPCS voice mail becomes a convenient real-time communication tool akin to instant messaging and email itself.” Although there still might be some translation problems that may arise, the technology is always improving to offer the best level of experience for users.
