Aluminium is a really cheap metal (almost as cheap as plastic). Its not like its durable/expensive or a premium metal. Get over yourselves already.

Dude, I didn't even say a single word of "Aluminum"!

I just said "Samsung", "plastic", "premium materials", "Good news!" :P

I think he was trying to suggest that if the two are priced similar than they both as cheap or premium as one another..I think the best way to think is that aluminium or metal just feels more premium than plastic.

Guys, remember! I'm serious, I said before plastic isn't a big deal right? Yes, I've said it before! I'm not saying plastic is cheap, but most of the peoples said that!

If Samsung don't like premium materials, they can at least make the S4 polycarbonate right?

But I still need to say this, Samsung needs premium materials to make their high-end smartphone (S4) more beasty and to compete with it's competitors! Talking about features, performance, battery, benchmarks.........Samsung wins it all! But premium feeling? No!

The s4 is polycarbonate... As for they need to use "premium" feeling material to compete, they are already out competing most of there competitors and other than apple is killing every other competitor to smoke..just needed to say this.

Aluminium is really cheaper than PolyCarbonate

Aluminium gets scratches easily, and you can't remove the back cover if it is made by aluminium.

if samsung does premium materials and great speakers then samsung would be the king of smartphones at the moments this what is keep them from being the best

they need to go premium material
and have alot better stereo speakers and improve call quality

do this samsung and then hands down samsung you own the world.

So 3 things wrong with the s4? Dozens of things that samsung did better than the HTC one that actually matter like better cpu, gpu, battery life, battery size, micro sd, removable battery. I could case less about the phones speaker quality/what its made of, its pointless its going to be crappy anyway.

Same CPU/GPU just clocked higher. I would think the battery and call quality would be the most important since it's a phone though.

Most of Galaxy S4s will have the S600 anyway, so CPU and GPU isn't a decision factor for the S4, and the S4 on every hands on i saw LAGGED, while the One did not!
There is things that now matter more than CPUs/GPUs, even if the S4 had 1/2 more fps in a game, the stereo speakers make the game more immersive!

Difference between Apple and Samsung design wise, one can't do a metal body because they don't have enough manufacturing fire power, the other, Apple can make a metal body, and still get it around the world in a few days.

The big difference is that apple makes 1 phone, samsung makes dozen, Samsung makes parts for others aswel as there own....or maybe that shouldn't be taken in to consideration too.

I hate to point out the obvious but Apple doesn't seem to have any problems supplying millions of metal chassis for the iPhone.

What does this have to do with the manufacturing process? Clearly you have no clue about the design process. If they had changed the DESIGN it would have delayed the production. This is the same whether it is apple, HTC, ASUS, ACER, or anyone else. No different that the moto phones in the pipeline being different from googles vision.

You're right. It was a poor design to begin with.

I won't necessarily disagree with you. That doesn't change the fact that your comment is stupid.

It's pathetic you're so offended by an anonymous comment.

Do you understand what the word "offended" means? You didn't understand the design process. So I have no reason to believe you understand what offended means.

Can we all stop complaining about Samsung using "cheap plastic"? This is subjective. Some people like it, others don't. Every material has its pros and its cons. If the S4 wasn't made out of plastic, it would not support micro sd and removable battery. Yes, it feels cheap to some people, but I actually find my friend's s3 pretty comfortable to hold. A glass back would be slippery and easily crack, while an aluminum unibody would get dents when dropped.

I only have two issues with samsung. They *seem*, highly subjective, to break easier than phones from other manufacturers. 2, it seems like they can't build a great antenna to save their lives. They may be better than apple, but they are definitely worse than HTC and Moto. But given their being slightly more friendly to the development community, I will support them.

Yes, they seem to be trying harder....now. But they are dead to me after dumping their tablet support like they did.

Only the HTC developer editon can be rooted (cost $650) I doubt the HTC one will get much dev support for mods/roms.
