Meizu Pro 6s possible specs revealed in live images

Meizu fans must be a bit confused by the many rumors regarding the Chinese company's next high-end smartphone. After reportedly scraping its Exynos 8890-based Pro 6 Plus smartphone, Meizu has been recently sued by Qualcomm in three countries following patent infringements.

However, that didn't prevent the handset maker to announce a launch event for October 31. The announcement doesn't really comes as a surprise since we kind of expected Meizu to come out with another Android smartphone by the end of this year.

Speaking of which, the next handset coming from Meizu could be the Pro 6s, a slightly improved version of the Meizu Pro 6. The good news is we now have more details on the phone's internal hardware, but the bad news is they aren't that impressive at all.

According to a few live pictures coming from China, the Pro 6s comes with a deca-core MediaTek MT6796, which is totally unexpected since this SoC (system-on-chip) hasn't been officially introduced by the chip maker yet.

Aside from the deca-core processor, Meizu Pro 6s will pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The smartphone sports a full HD (1080p) display, but the size is not mentioned in the posted pictures.

The benchmark used to test the Meizu Pro 6s, AnTuTu confirms the chipset inside the smartphone has ten cores, but aside from that we know nothing else about the MT6796.

On the other hand, we do know that the Pro 6s will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard, unless Meizu has a change of heart at the last moment and puts Nougat on the device, though we doubt that will happen.
