Meizu MX4 smiles for the camera, hinting at an imminent launch

Remember Meizu? These guys were all the rage before Xiaomi began its own line of Apple gear clones. We kid, but we haven't been hearing from Meizu for a while, and all of a sudden the MX4 starts making the rounds, hinted for a September 2nd unveiling, about a week before the new iPhone 6 is supposed to land. Will it steal Apple's thunder in Asia amongst the fierce competition to do the same these days? You be the judge, as a few photos of the Meizu MX4 leaked out, and the rounded handset is said to sport a metal chassis to boot...

Not very good looking, I'm more impressed by the previous leaks which seems to be different. The home button on the previous leaks isn't rectangular I think?

back is pretty orthodox and unappealing... I agree, previous leaks showed a diffent design which was way better than this

Where's the Meizu signature circular capacitive home button on the phone? This phone looks plain and boring, looks like a cheap mid range to me. Looks like the Galaxy S Advance on the front though.
I don't think that this is the MX4.

Meizu is also still quite big in China. Also their media players still have great sound quality compared to a lot of the stuff released today and in the US. Not as good as Cowon or the old iRiver but they still use quality DSPs.
I wonder how their software development is, quality-wise. I had an old Meizu DAP back in 2009 and it did have some minor issues.

Looks like a Galaxy 2 home button? Unless it has fingerprint scanner integrated, see no point for this...
