Funny thing is Jobs could have did much more to enchance this new Iphone but what's the point, it gonna be on top anyway, he could of just added something simple like LCD light to open garage doors and it would still sell, bottom line is that apple made the best 1st impression when the 1st iphone came out that consumers are puddy in his hands. I can see it now all the 10 year kids wanting this new toy and the mothers who are willing to buy it. Believe it or not even if HTC EVO, Droid etc are better than the new Iphone, the Iphone is probably gonna out sell them.

kind of shady really. Apple will use these figures to show how awesome the I-phone is, but in reality it will be a ton of people upgrading from the 3GS... how about taking these upgrades off the table and see what real sales figures are. There is no doubt this will be a huge blockbuster, but this is manipulation of numbers as far as i'm concerned. i'm curious about new converts and new overall customers, not the blind faithful

Sales are sales man. Android users are more likely to buy Android phones while Iphone users are more likely to buy another iPhone. I think the percentage was 80% for iPhone vs 70% for Android.

They are repalcing both 16 gig and 32 gig 3GS with an 8 gig 3Gs and price it at $99. A couple of my fiends have already told me they are pretty much out of the 16 and 32 gig at his store.

No 8GB is 99.00, 16GB 149.00, and 32GB is 199.00, while supplies last - there are tons of them out there to sell, and no, 8GB is not replacing the other two models, that is absurd.

Read the article my friend. They are dropping the price of 16 and 32 gig 3GS to $149.00 and $199.00 till they run out. There is a 8 gig 3GS coming that will be $99. Even at the conference he had a slide up that showed only 3 phones. The 8 gig 3gs and the 2 new iphone 4's. No sign of the 16 & 32 gig 3GS's

I'm not gonna bash, even though I love Android, I just wonder what new features does the Iphone 4 really bring? The only one I saw was the stainless steel frame which will give it a better signal. Just realistically what's new and innovative about it? It's still 3G, needs wifi for it's video calling, finally got HD video and editing ability, and only might have a 1ghz processor. That's all been done already, not to bash but that's less innovation and more playing catch up to Android. Again I'm not bashing, though I've never liked Apple, I'm just disappointed there's nothing new about it.

Honestly all Jobs did was add features that some of these new device currently have which is multitask actual video calling and etc. That's all he really needed. Now what does all these other phone which are out now or coming up really have to offer, that the Iphone4 doesn't have or can just upgrade to with the OS. Bottom line is that what made other phone like htc, droid, etc. more better than the iphone (for whatever reason) the iphone4 has now, so does htc, droid etc really have to offer now. so what gonna happen is apple sales are going to sky rocket. On top of that Apple attracts what htc and droid and etc don't KIDS!

It still doesn't have a physical keyboard, it will never get the market share of people who like physical keyboards; the OS still doesn't feature true multitasking so you won't get that bussinness; the App store is still a walled garden so you won't get the people who are all about open; the interface isn't really that different so if someone didn't prefer it before, they won't now; there's a whole lot of differentiations between high end phones, as it stands I don't see Apples long term market share in countires it has already saturated becoming much larger. Thats not to say there aren't markets it could enter and expand its share.

I'm just going to address the points you made. 1. Not everyone wants a keyboard. Additionally, an Android phone does not equal physical keyboard. I bet there are more Android phones without keyboards than with keyboards. What do you have to say about that? 2. True multitasking? Apple's multitasking is (supposedly) better because you do the same exact thing while using less battery and CPU. And what do you mean by "so you won't get that business." 3. Apple may be a walled garden (I agree to that to some extent), but it still has more and better apps in it's store than Android, so some of this open source stuff makes little sense to me. 4. The interface isn't all that different. If customization has that much weight for some of you guys I suggest getting an Android phone and switching from facebook to myspace. But other than the widgets, and the sense ui stuff, Android phones have the same basic UI. But I thought that the interface was one of the things iPhone users liked most. Maybe I was wrong. If those are the only things android OS has to offer, then I'm sure many will be happy with the iPhone 4.

It may not match it in the spec world, but it will far match it, surpass it and run it over in the $$$$ world And theres no disputing that fact. It's a new iphone and more people will want it and will buy it more than they will the Evo & Incredible combined And thats another fact that won't be able to be disputed when all the smoke clears.

I don't think "hater" comment will start cause i think the iphone are a great phone BUT, when you get limited to new features i.e. Video chat it kinda puts the phone down a bit. They keep saying that you can use Video Chat "ANYWHERE" you get WiFi but what they don't tell you is most WiFi connections are encrypted i.e. passwords. So how are people going to enjoy Video Chat when they can't connect to WiFi??? The design on the Iphone 4 is GREAT and it looks like a wonderful screen but to get limited to feature...............The Evo is on top for now when it comes to new features for phones. Maybe one day the Iphone can make video chat over ATT network.....maybe....

ok, so some of you say "No big deal" or "iphone is catching up to ANDROID" and that maybe so, however, look at this link and see if your DROID phone or EVO does the same: http://www.apple.com/iphone/design/ 960 X 640 display - RETINAL DISPLAY of 326 pixels, smaller than what the human eye can see - although, maybe that is just meant for what the capability is, meaning - so detailed, that my eye fails to comprehend what it sees...lol All the breakthrough technology in iPhone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass — the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever. It’s also recyclable The world's thinnest smartphone - thinner than the e71x?? WOW iPhone 4 is the first phone with a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, it makes iPhone 4 capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, angular velocity, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience. I wonder is this better than EVO, same, or who cares?? While most phones have only one microphone, iPhone 4 has two. The main mic, located on the bottom next to the speakers, is for phone and FaceTime calls, voice commands, and memos. The second mic, built into the top near the headphone jack, is for making your phone and video calls better. It works with the main mic to suppress unwanted and distracting background sounds, such as music and loud conversations. This dual-mic noise suppression helps make every conversation a quiet one. Sounds good, but who knows until one is purchased - my wife's iphone sounds quiet as it is when she uses it and great voice quality, so I cannot imagine it being better. FACETIME VIDEO CALLING - sounds cool - does any other phone have 2 mics, 2 cameras and real built-in camera flash - the 5MP quality looks better than most 5MP camera phones I have seen.....I don't know....it seems this phone could be a winner - either way, this is good for consumers as companies are improving their equipment by one-upping each other....in the end we all win.

And multitasking also! We still don't know how well it works, but from the demos we've already seen, I'd called it new, innovative, and breakthrough. It may not be true multitasking, but I think (theoretically) it works better. What about the 720p 30fps video capability. Not even the EVO, Motorola Milestone XT720, or Droid Incredible does that. The iPhone 4 even has iMovie in the phone. I don't have a Mac but i'm guessing that's really good stuff. Look at this link:http://androidandme.com/2010/05/phones/the-incredible-camera-showdown-droid-incredible-vs-nexus-one / The Nexus One won over the Droid Incredible in camera quality despite the smaller5 megapixels that the Nexus One has. http://www.redmondpie.com/nexus-one-blown-away-by-iphone-3gs-in-browser-speed-test-9140313/ This link has a speed test with the 600 MHz iPhone 3GS beating the vs 1Ghz Droid and Nexus One. The 1Ghz EVO will obviously be faster since it runs on 4G, but by how much depends on the power of the new A4 1Ghz processor of the iPhone 4. Obviously there are a lot of things that the EVO, Incredible, and Droid do better than the iPhone 4, but you guys have to try to be a little more objective and stop using this "old news," "catching up," or "disappointing again" crap. There's really nothing disappointing about the iPhone as of now.

I foresee masses of apple and iPhone haters coming out in droves. Funny thing about haters is they always get louder when their team is losing. And talk about catching up to android? Sorry but it's been surpassed. Evo? Only thing it has is a bigger screen and a sparse 4G network that doesn't do much for the majority ofthe country that doesn't have wimax. 8 mp camera? More mp doesn't mean better camera automatically. The lens makes a bigger diff. And if the screen doesn't look as good as the iPhones, and no phone screen does(how's that for upgrading), the pics won't either. On the phone, which is where most ppl see and show the pics, the screen is what makes the pics look so good. Hell, htc still doesn't even use 16m color screens. Yeah real HD there. Glass body with an antenna for the frame? Signal strength sholdnt be a prob. Updated os that still runs smoother than android is great. And don't gimm ethat open bs. It's not 100%open. Can't be for security reasons, it's not truly open and revs can't take full advantage of the os compared to a closed os with tens of thousands more available api's. Oh and let's talk about the gyroscope. Apple innovated with the accelerometer. Everyone followed. Even android phones. Now let's see how long till the gyroscope gets copied...apple don't do new? Yeah sure. I agree most of there stuff isn't brand new only the best. But what they don't invent they improve. Y do it first when u can do it the best.

Before any of you respond to my blog I'd like to first appeal to everyone who has a 3gs already. I'd like to first bring to your attention the facts of the above article on Apple's crowning moment. Okay higher resolution 640x940 awesome! but still the same screen size..why? has a 5MP cam w/ flash great. but why only 5MP if this was so supposed to be cutting edge phone why not set the bar high? just a thought. Video capabilities okay I'm a lil confused no mention of a/v cable to connect to monitor or TV..oh wait, i know you have to sign on to itunes to load your video...(i was being a little fascisious).Droid incredible and EVO has it. Noise cancellation and a second mic? for what voice coverage on AT&T is terrible will that make a difference if background noise is canceled? I gotta hear the reason for this one? And Ios 4 for multitasking...geez come on! if jobs admitted that it cant video conference on AT&T's Fastest 3g network and it only can use Wifi for it, what's the point of multitasking. Oh i know just so they can say we have multitasking...but not on a wireless network. lets see how many open windows it can handle...(not on wifi tho) And finally for all you 3gs owners and i know your out there...are probably pissed off that since you got the phone last year you wont be eligible to get this phone cuz why you may ask...Cuz AT&T is gonna stiff ya and only give it to the 3g iphone owners, whose contracts are running out this year. As a consolation prize I know some of you guys will still pay full prize to get this goose egg of a phone. I dont blame ya...support jobs and iphone 4...(sorry guys no G next to the phone cuz it isn't really 4G). Now pay AT&T the company who just released TIERED DATA pricing and enjoy iphone 4 w/o G...and tell me how it feels. let me know if it can tether on AT&T fastest network and unlimitedly. Also tell me about the wondefulr videos you take with it. and i can show videos from my HD Vidcam. well thats enough for now...Buh Bye!! Cant wait for the comment after this....ouch!

A response from an outsider. I will address the points you brought in your post. 1. I agree with you on the screen size. I could have been bigger. However, 3.5 inches is still good enough, as the iPhone's screen is very wide - even wider than many 3.7" devices. And with a wide screen - you don't really need one that is taller than it is today. 2. As Steve said - and I completely agree with him on this - Its not the mega-pixels that matter, but the lens and sensor quality. The iPhone 3GS, 3MP camera takes pictures which are much better than a lot of the pictures taken by a lot of Samsung5MP shooters, not to mention camera phones with the same amount of mega-pixels. Heck, even the first iPhone with it's 2 MP camera might have better photo quality than some random 12 MP Sony Ericsson device. 3. Well, you can't plug your phone to your TV, but why would the average consumer want to do that anyway? Computers are much more widespread than TV sets (esp. laptops), and you can upload this 720p video directly to YouTube. 4. For the rest of your claims - please try to think globally on this. AT&T is not the sole provider of the world - and the iPhone 4 is an international product. Just because your infamous network might or might not have technical problems doesn't mean that every other wireless provider is affected by it. This cannot be accounted as a disadvantage of the iPhone. And for the record - I'm pretty sure that video calling will be available via 3G in other countries.

Thank you for ya comments but you see this is my point when it comes time iPhone pol like ya self. 1st of all why would a iget a 3g iphone when around this same time next year verizon and sprint already has 4G. Well I agree on ya comment concerning about megapixels. Its called mega pixels for a reason. The amount of resolution and dpi can only b realized on a computer monitor. Your biased opinions is clearly shown when you quote directly from what Jobs says. I'd like to respond to your question about being able to watch on TV. Seems like you like to haul not only ya laptop or perhaps DVD movies...I don't, I simply save em on my SD card (size options 4,8,16, and 32GB...oh yeah iphone 4 W/o G doesn't have that option). Although u do have the option of editing your own video, what's the point! You still have to sync to ya pc or mac and then (crosses fingers) convert to a different format. I prefer the ease of using my android incred to jus plug and play no need for conversion just watch...convenience right? I kno you agree. Now I like what you said here thinking globally...hmmmm it seems the iphone took almost 2 years before it release the iphone juggernaut to the world rite. Well the reason why I'm NOT bashing GSM networks is because outside of AT&T's network GSM reign supreme in asia and europe. Now if you carefully read my blog again especially the last paragraph.. you will see why I bashed AT&T...now comes tiered data pricing...whole other matter but let me ask you since you will be getting the new iphone, how can you fully utilize the bells and whistles on it when its on a network that...how can I put this... coming up on the short end. But go ahead if you own a iphone 3gs buy the new 1, its your money anyways. I just see it as total waste of money. And by the way how come ya didn't comment on the noise canceling mic...just wondering.

Well first of all I'm not from the US - something that could be discerned from my previous post. Second - my quoting of Steve jobs is not a biased opinion. It's actually backed by what I said, which is backed in itself by facts. Even a good 12MP cameraphone cannot compare to an old 4MP digital camera when it comes to camera quality. Thus, it's not the MPs which are significant, but the light sensor and lens. Third of all - if you read my previous post carefully - you will see that I didn't suggest plugging it to a PC. I suggested uploading that video to youtube (which has an HD setting as well), and watching it later on from ANY pc which has an internet connection. Not just some static TV set which also needs to have an HDMI port as well. Fourth of all - I already told you - I'm not from the US. I don't care what problems does your carrier have. Its obvious that these problems will probably not exist on other carries around the world. Fifth of all - if you read the marketing schedule for the iPhone 4 - it's going to appear around almost all of the world (read - more than 100 countries) in a period of 2 months. Thus, another emphasize of the "international" part. Sixth of all - I barely understood your post from the grammatical point of view.

Check your facts a little better. Ios does support video out. Who cares about 8MP when it's lens quality that matters. But I won't say the cam will be better. Won't know that till the 24th. And I'm no blind fanboy. And also for the second guy, computers are not more widespread than tv's not even close. The average household in first world countries has two tv's and o ly one pc. Albeit that ratio is changing and I do get your point and also agree with it tho. Just had to fact check that's all. And once again. It is true multitasking. Apps both run in the background and pause. I see too many ppl getting this wrong. U don't have to like it and kudos for having am opinion. I don't are if u wanna be childish and bash other ppls opinions but at least have ur facts right or u look like a moron.

Does it mean the iphone 4 will be able to support 3g video calling maybe next year OR there will be a new model of iphone that can support it released next year ?
