well, the resolution is nice, the video calling and video editing is nice.. but other than that, its more of the same. what i wonder is about insurance. the whole damn thing is made of glass.. that is gonna be fun to drop. they better make insurance availible for it..AT REGULAR PRICES.. geeze.
44. jogutier (Posts: 324; Member since: 12 Feb 2010)

it is a special type of glass 30x stronger than plastic.....I would rather have this than the 3gs
105. *HOVA* (Posts: 564; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
They have insurance. It's like $14 a month and over $200 to replace. Have fun with that.
139. jogutier (Posts: 324; Member since: 12 Feb 2010)
Ignorant at it's finest. LMAO !!!! Again !!! Features that other phones already have. Where do you recruit these colt members. ha ha ha Must bite the apple. LMAO ! LAME !

iPhone people can be so ignorant at times. Plenty of the “NEW” features that the iphone 4 has, other phones have had them for years. I will admit that the display is really bad@SS but everything else is just old. Like the video calling, All of Europe, other countries and my old N82 and N85 phones have had that feature for years. Plus the HTC EVO 4G is better because unlike the iphone, it does not require wifi. You can videocall by using Sprints service. P.S the display on the Samsung galaxy is 10x better than of the iphone. (people just need to realize that the iphone is no longer the ruling king but the beaching queen)

At last, someone is not following this stupid cult this iphone crappynated. yes his right user's! iphone has a great display but the UPDATES, UPGRADES are so outdated. basically they are late because other phones like the ichiban nokia already had it (like video calling, multitasking more than four apps, radio, 5 mpx camera, infrared, and so much more that you would cry into joy!) a long time before 3g came out. Ex. what he put..N95, E71 which if you're from US att offer it and also in other countries..E72...my long awaited N8 (12 mpx hd720p and so much more)hell badass yeah! About the android os phones I would still agree with you. although they are new, they are trying all the possibilities to make cool apps...I like the UI too. and at least they don't stick into one phone like IPHONE. and i heard android are about to put flash 10 which btw ignorant people an essential..vital supply to make your web browsing complete! what i mean not just youtube all the time...but you can explore more than that!
4. omarc26 (Posts: 360; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
does video calling only work on wi-fi??? cuz if it does that sucks... why cant it be like in europe were they are able to make video calls over 3G????
7. *HOVA* (Posts: 564; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
Probably wouldn't want to use it over 3G when you only get 2GB a month with their new data plans anyway...
17. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Right now, no one will be using 3G to do FACETIME VIDEO calling - soon, but not yet - using WiFi is great at home, for me, anyways.
45. jogutier (Posts: 324; Member since: 12 Feb 2010)
It's mention that you can only use it on WIFI. It's apple, your limited.
52. JackFace (Posts: 190; Member since: 03 Nov 2009)
Read the article... "Now it seems this year FaceTime will only work over Wi-Fi, but Jobs promised that they are working hard with carriers to make the service possible through a mobile network as well." AT&T would not allow this because it would KILL their network... Apple had to start with just Wifi... Ultimately, it comes down to the carriers.
69. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
lol, shows us how bright these posters are for giving me '-1' for stating the facts....whatta bunch of dorkfishes...
78. anarkie (Posts: 48; Member since: 28 Jan 2009)
Umm.... With "carriers"? You do realized that there is only one carrier, don't you? And again, with AT&T, it won't happen. Unless, of course, they add it now with the new data pricing. That 2 way video stream will make them tons of money not to improve the network with.
79. majicc07 (Posts: 28; Member since: 07 May 2009)
He is talking about all the international carriers who are launching it. The video calling will only work on wifi for all carriers that use it. So it's not just an at&t thing.
125. Jeradiah3 (Posts: 1012; Member since: 11 Feb 2010)
if u already have an i-phone and want to upgrade to the i-phone 4, the unltd data plan stays the same...the new data plans are for new i-phone customers or if current customers change the data plan from the old to the new plan
131. dswatson83 (Posts: 56; Member since: 13 Jan 2010)
I just used video calling on my evo 4g from walmart to make sure I was buying the right type of soap for her! Just called her up and she got to see all the stuff they sell right there. There are alot of reasons to use video calling and very few are from home. If your home, get out your laptop and use skype, its endlessly better than this iphone crap. The whole reason to video call on a phone is so your not glued to a laptop on wifi. Who would use a vga iphone camera on a freaking small 3.5" screen when your at home on wifi sitting next to your 15" laptop with a 1.3mp or better camera. Fail apple

anyone one know wen this is coming out over here in spain?
8. SkyNet.TX (Posts: 15; Member since: 12 Jun 2009)
looks nice. But it still can't compete with other high-end smart phones like the galaxy-s. its just a matter of taste!!!
92. SkyNet.TX (Posts: 15; Member since: 12 Jun 2009)
i am serious!! the OS cant even come close to android 2.1 and not even froyo when it comes avaible for galaxy s
106. *HOVA* (Posts: 564; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
How does this not compete with 2.1 or froyo. Facts much?
9. ccarrier012 (Posts: 24; Member since: 24 Dec 2008)
The display looks awesome, but I don't understand where they were going with the design of the phone in general.
10. nirmalmarar (Posts: 4; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
Display should be a treat. Would have loved to see changes made to the way, you move/transfer files using BT.
11. jenna_23 (Posts: 145; Member since: 02 Apr 2010)
i still cannot understand why only at&t? in the US? look up iphone in canada, australia the uk its available 5 carriers out there.. so over there people have a choice n choose to which company they wanna go to cuz the iphone is available on all the companys . does anyone think this will ever happen here?
21. Mateo8326 (Posts: 472; Member since: 15 Jul 2009)
naw it won't why would it verizon got droid, sprint got htc, and tmobile got google no need to have the apple Iphone
26. JackFace (Posts: 190; Member since: 03 Nov 2009)
Mateo... Sprint has HTC? Same with EVERY other Carrier... T-Mobile has Google? So does EVERY other Carrier... HTC uses Google (Android). Getting things mixed up? I'm not sure where you are getting at...?
29. Mateo8326 (Posts: 472; Member since: 15 Jul 2009)
Just saying i'm hearing alot of people from other carriers mostly downing the iphone since the begginning of time so why bring it to other carriers. Most people say whatever top selling phone that they have for their service provider hence htc evo, motorola driod they all say it is better than the iphone.
42. E.N. (Posts: 2532; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
Why bring the iPhone to other carriers? How about why not bring it to other carriers?
77. kjh267 (Posts: 25; Member since: 16 Mar 2010)
It is better then the iphone... two words OPEN SOURCE and no restriction bullshit with what you can do with your phone... the android os has the same capabilities as the iphone and many many more.. with an android phone you can use any format files, use any applications, the bluetooth has no restrictions, and you can do real multitasking... not to mention now you can do video chat with your android on the network... If you all want to pay for a phone that restricts your capabilites then go for an iphone... if your looking for a phone that gives you free reign to its capabilities go with an android based OS!!!
82. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
Haha you fanboys and your restrictive reasons. I've experienced both an iPhone and a Android (currently on the N1 with Froyo). Still, hands down, an iPhone is the best phone for a universal amount of work with a smartphone. Android is too complicated for many people. I have friends who got 2.1 updates through Verizon and still don't have icons on all the screen because they have really don't know how to do it. And real multitasking? Apple is giving application users the option to do real time multitasking or pausing. You're clearly misreading your information. Also to add, Android is open source, but all the bullshit apps out there make it useless. And on top of that, if you want to mess around with the phone, just as you would with an iPhone, you have to jailbreak it/root it. They are basically the same thing except Android decides to put a little lock on the front of the screen and really screw you out of your warranty. You say many many more, but that majority of many is poorly made and useless to many many people. Recommendation: Buy an iPhone, unless you own an iPad or iPod Touch so you can at least have the app store
102. ickyob (Posts: 24; Member since: 19 Mar 2010)
what's so great about Apple's app store over Android's? Just because Apple can boast an inflated number like 170,000 or something doesn't mean it's any better. Android also has tens of thousands of apps, and if you wanna talk about bullshit apps, look at Apple, pumping out 100k plus apps just for the numbers and not necessarily to be useful. You can't even use all the apps available from the app store, you maybe use like 50-100 apps, maybe up to 250 if you are obsessed with your iPhone and worship it 24-7. So what's the use of having so many apps other than boasting who has the bigger manhood?
109. SprintfanBoy (unregistered)
all i have to say is if i rom my phone i can still get my warranty work done and i dont have to worry about the job police kicking in my door wondering why i messed steve jobs' products.
134. dlff (unregistered)
No game changer here. Wifi video call & can only call to iphone is as good as not having it. Apple expects the whole world to use iphone. Is it? Still no transferring of songs, photos & video clip via bluetooth. Battery cannot be removed. No external memory card. Now using mini SIM card. Is that another way to tie up iphone users?
13. GlenF (Posts: 50; Member since: 02 Nov 2009)
"The thing is that the stainless steel frame will actually serve as an antenna! Say goodbye to poor reception on the iPhone" Really? do we need to take tech 101? what are you never supposed to do with your antenna? cover it with your hand. And what will you do every time you hold the phone up to your ear during a call? cover about 70% of the antenna. And what does that do? makes your phone work harder. Causing? battery drain. And lastly kids, does having the worlds biggest antenna help if the network doesn't? i think we know that answer As for the rest: Impressive screen resolution and great video conferencing feature. Anyone unbiased knows the rest is simpley playing catch up to the EVO & Incredible This release could have been a reset button that made everyone forget that Android is growing 7% a year and Windows 7 is being released. Instead they have to offer early upgrades to EVERYONE that's eligable in 2010 to make sure it's a blockbuster
22. Mateo8326 (Posts: 472; Member since: 15 Jul 2009)
Dude what are you talking you must have Verizon
27. jpropin (Posts: 152; Member since: 20 May 2010)
7 % growth seems pretty weak considering that Android Devices are running on all 4 major Networks in the U.S and new Android phones are being released what seems like every other day to the point of overkill and overexposure and that the while at the same time the iphone runs on only one network and produces what? One phone every couple of years? Yep, 7 % is real impressive.....lol I'm not an iphone lover or hate. I don't even own ANY Apple products. Maybe thats why I can give it up to Apple for making products that the masses seem to want more than it wants the cometition's products. Theres no shame in admitting that.
55. corps1089 (Posts: 492; Member since: 20 Jan 2010)
yeah 7% doesn't seem so weak when you realize that it is total market share and not % of new phone sales and you compare it to Apple's total market share. Wait, what's that that was reported earlier? Android has a higher share of US sales than Apple? Whoops jpropin! http://www.phonearena.com/html
s/Android-climbing-as-it-jets-pass-Apple-in-the-US-smartphone-market-for-Q1-2010-article-a_11223.html "According to The NPD Group, Android is resting healthy at 28 percent market share and was able to overtake Apple who is now sitting in third place at 21 percent." Lest you cite that this is only new sales and does not represent the total market share we have for reference: http://www.phonearena.com/html s/Android-market-share-soars-600-in-12-months-article-a_11414.html"According to analytics firm Gartner, from the first quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010, Android's slice of the smartphone pie has risen from 1.6% to 9.6%. That is an impressive 600% increase year-over-year and has Google's open source OS closing in on the iPhone's 15.4% market share. Android is growing it's share faster than Apple and could leapfrog the iPhone by this time next year."
75. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
This may all change with IPHONE IV, but ANDROID is here to stay....
89. E.N. (Posts: 2532; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
Android has like a million phones out. Of course it is going to eventually pass Apple, duh! And just to throw this in... "Then we get cold hard numbers like these -- showing iPhone OS owning 28 percent of the US smartphone market and closing in on RIM's leading 35 percent -- and we face up to the realization that Android handsets still account for less than one in every ten smartphones owned by Americans today." - Engadget
15. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
3GS will be 149 for 16GB and 199 for 32GB - 99.00 is for 3GS 8GB model - but who wants an 8GB model?? The only thing I wish was improved was storgae capacity - they should have gone with 32GB and 64GB, because of the iBOOKS and iMOVIES....
16. SkyNet.TX (Posts: 15; Member since: 12 Jun 2009)
looks nice. But it still can't compete with other high-end smart phones like the galaxy-s. its just a matter of taste!!!
18. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
ok, anyone want to post on here the specs for EVO and GALAXY S, just to compare to IPHONE IV - seems like a close call to me to many areas......
67. GlenF (Posts: 50; Member since: 02 Nov 2009)
/iphone-4-android-tech-specs/specs on the I-phone 4, the incredible, the EVo & Nexus 1 the phone looks less and less impressive when it's side by side with these
71. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
cool, thanks for the link - and, I thought so - iphone is a nice phone, but EVO still is calling me....
91. E.N. (Posts: 2532; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
6/07/iphone-4-vs-the-smartphone-elite-evo-4g-n8-pre-plus-and-hd2/That's a better link since the winner of each category is highlighted. I'm not saying don't buy the EVO, but don't put too much emphasis on the EVO's 8 megapixel camera. Even though the iphone has only 5 megapixels, it has 720p at 30fps video while the EVO only has 24fps (not much difference though but the iphone clearly wins in that area). Megapixels just means larger pictures. That doesn't necessarily mean the quality is going to be better/clearer. Just saying.
19. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
GALAXY S does not have 2 cameras or flash - at least per the specs listed here - wait until a US network grabs it officially.....EVO looks to be a tad better...and I heard SPRINT is ok.
20. narley (Posts: 357; Member since: 14 May 2009)
Nice phone... still wrong network. Ill wait til later this year or next when VZW gets it. ... and how funny is it when he was having issues with its connectivity and asked if someone had any ideas a guy in the crowd yelled "verizon" ha ha swish.
25. majicc07 (Posts: 28; Member since: 07 May 2009)
HA HA your such a funny guy, it was an issue with wifi ass!!! If you would have read a little further he asked all to log off wifi. Would happened as well will VZ. Did I mention you are an ass. I am so glad VZ got snubbed yet again. Not because I have anything against them but just because of all the BS that's spoken on this site which are mostly VZ emloyees. You guys mine as well take the 24th off cause it won't be like you guys will be busy or anything. And no I don't work for AT&T either.
28. gambino37 (Posts: 146; Member since: 16 Oct 2009)
hukd on fonics wurkd for me. If you are going to call someone out, at least learn to use proper english first.
30. whocares (Posts: 235; Member since: 19 Dec 2009)
The funny part is At&t has the largest wifi hotspot network too so vzw customer using wifi are usually relying on at&t. Owned.
