As far as I understand Android phones are not smartphones, they are multimedia phones. They are meant for leisure - playing games, watching videos, etc.
Symbian phones are for productivity, with the ability to play games, watch videos, etc.

Android phones need dual core CPU to work smoothly, they need quad core CPU to shoot FullHD videos.
Symbian phones menages that with a single core CPU, wit no problems.

So which of the two is the smart one?

The problem is that Symbian has been left for dead and abandoned by both Nokia and consumers whilst Android has been adopted by almost billions of people around the globe and that number isn't about to slow down anytime soon. I own various Symbian (E7/N8 and yes, the 808 pureview running Belle) devices and that lag you speak of does exist in Symbian also. Granted it's improved a lot since the 5800 days running series 60 5th edition but it's still awkward when required for web browsing and scrolling and Android does not require Quad Cores to run smooth, hell even my single core Desire S stuck on Gingerbread can outperform any Nokia Symbian device with a higher clock frequency in any given task.

Really...

I have used my Android phones to check the schedules for public transportation.....pdf reader.

I used it to connect to my home PC while at work to move files back n forth. One time to show some ppl pics of my kids...

I have Quick Office, Documents to Go....ya know productivity software?

I used a few remote desktop apps.

I used the eTrade app to do transactions.

There is a terminal app to run command line prompts. How many ppl even know what the command line is?

The HTC Droid Incredible was probably first smoothest Android phone out....running a single core cpu ad 512MB ram in 2010. Maybe the Nexus One was too, dont know, didnt use a Nexus One.

Most smartphones can be for both work and play. Whether its iOS, Android, WP, etc.

Any more questions?

Why dont they charge $500 more and give the phone really high end Specs. It wont make much of a price difference to the super rich.
5in FHD IPS Screen
QuadCore Snapdragon Pro
2 GB Ram
32GB internal Storge with sd slot

lol these "luxury" phone companies only ever release garbage hardware anyway, i'd consider it a benefit if they decided not to release any products with my OS on it.

Ditched? Really? I'd like to see WHEN they announced they were making a Phone with WP8 onboard. Thanks.

They should drop their over price phones period

13. Tsepz_GP posted on 14 Feb 2013, 12:09 1

Yes! Good on them, wonder why they even bothered to consider that dud of an OS.

18. applesauce posted on 14 Feb 2013, 17:42 2

Perhaps Vertu is the new test bed for Android; if it does well, it could easily be migrated over to Nokia, without compromising Nokia's agreement with Microsoft.

I think they should use windows phone 8 as it requires higher specs to run
Outdated specs on a 10k android phone is just riduculous and besides they are already several luxury android phones maker
While luxury windows phone 8 is an untapped territory
