Lumia Amber software update demonstrated on a Nokia Lumia 920
Lumia owners, there's a pretty significant software update coming your way. Dubbed Lumia Amber, the new software will bring both minor and major improvements, including new camera features and FM radio support. Yeah, we're sure you're more excited about the former, so let's dive into the details.

As a part of the Lumia Amber update, Nokia will include the Smart Camera application with all its fancy shooting modes and effects. Among them are the Best Shot, Action Shot, and Motion Blur features, which you can see demonstrated in the video below. On top of all that, we're expecting to see support for ISO speeds of up to 3200, at least on some Lumia smartphones, better color reproduction and less noise achieved through software optimization. Faster burst shots are also expected to be made possible by the new update.

The Lumia Amber software update is scheduled to start rolling out in Q3 of 2013, bringing all these goodies to everyone holding on to a Nokia Lumia running Windows Phone 8.

While Nokia may not always be the very best in terms of providing raw processing power in their devices, their customer support is unmatched, and excellent beyond words. Thanks in advance for giving us this great update!!!

TBH, Microsoft is limiting Nokia's progress in hardware.

True. As it stands, there would be no Microsoft in the mobile space, if it weren't for Nokia. MS has been making some pig headed decisions of late.

It's true that WP8's limitations are a hinderance for Nokia, but that should change soon with the Windows Phone Blue update. Fingers crossed*
