It's half of the current price ($649).
Still can't afford it? Go for Galaxy Y.

At $329 it has to be as good or better than the iphone 4. It needs to have imessage, facetime and Siri available otherwise its not a real iphone, but just another phone.

Agree with you, it better should offer everything what the higher end iPhone does. Maybe possible cost cuts can be made in hardware section, like plastic use, slightly older CPU, graphics and stuff.

In short, though Apple is known for worst VFM, this phone should be able to at least offer some.

Of course it will have those features but it comes with weaker hardware, smaller screen, low pixel density, and plastic case.
Half the price specs means half the iPhone 5 specs.
Let's say it will have a single core CPU, 512 MB RAM, 3" HVGA (480x320) display, 1400 mAh battery, 8 GB storage, plastic glass, plastic case.. That's almost close to iPhone 3GS specs.
FYI, the brand new iPhone 3GS is still sold in my country at $300.
If I had $329, I would buy Lenovo P770 which costs $270, better specs & run smoothly.. The rest of my money is for buying 32 GB microSD & leather case.

LOL wtf is wrong with you? You're making ridiculous assumptions.
It'll have the same 4 inch retina display of the iPhone 5, not sure about the RAM though.
It doesn't matter what processor it'd have since iOS doesn't lag.
Rest don't talk about plastic, it'll be a mid range device. Companies out their are selling flagship models made out of plastic.

If they make phone with specs that low then it'll be a failure.
Well anyway I won't ever buy Apple devices. They are just so... restricted. I promote Android and WP.

And I'm freakin in love with lenovo k900!!

think about the fact most flagship models are in the $6-700 range. And a nexus 4 is $300.

And what a POS it will be at that price! I mean, the $700 i5 was outdated and obsolete the day it launched, the only people who will buy this....thing....is cheap posers who want to feel/look "cool" for having an iPhail.

Their pride is still too high, huh? Can't they lower that? It's starting to piss me off.

Most of the people buy iPhones because of the fact that iPhone is more expensive than any other smartphones! And of course they want to be cool by carrying expensive phones in crowd. I doubt low-cost iPhone would works well. R.I.P Apple

yea Im sure its that because its not like their app store gets most apps months before the play store. or that its simple enough for a old lady to use? or because they have great resale value? its like buying a car. do you want to buy a v8 for your everyday car or do u want a 4 cylinder? im sorry your still rolling around in a bike excuse me.

I don't see reason to thumb you down. Of course it's not the sole reason though... People buy iPhone because they 'follow' Apple. Steve Jobs has done some magical work in the past and Apple still is in good position only because of it.
Maybe also non-techy people think Android is little complicated to use, a general opinion I see around. I don't buy it though.
Most people using iPhone when I asked, they just told me "This is the best phone so I bought it". Very little of them could explain any reason. Most of just said that they don't know, but they were told that by someone.

Just half price of the regular iPhone, don't know what the complaints come from.
Though I will not get it, I wonder how many people will buy it. Will it lose its coolness at that price? I am sure it won't look like a piece of art no more.

It will look like a piece of an art. Low price has nothing to do with the design aesthetics at Apple. For instance- look at the iPod shuffle.

If it has the specs of a current gen or last gen iphone i think it would sell well. Not because its a apple device but apple has a well put together eco system of software, apps and support from third parties. People think that apple is successful because of the device but its actually because of itunes the app store and its popularity and simplicity. if everyone in the world was tech savvy then android would be top dog.

So this is Apple's response to the Nexus' price? But with lesser specs.. what happened to the previous iPhone becoming the "budget" offering?

Let's see...all plastic, recycled iPhone 4 specs, non Retina screen...Ka chiiiiiiiinng!

it will use recycled iPhone 3 specs...
The brand new iPhone 3GS still costs $300 in my country.. And it's still sold today.
I don't like windows phone but Nokia Lumia 520 will win in low cost segment
