Lost Apple iPhone 5 prototype story continues; SFPD want to see video footage of the bar
0. phoneArena 25 Sep 2011, 12:38 posted on
The story about the missing Apple iPhone 5 prototype is not over apparently as the SFPD is requesting surveillance tape from the bar where the device was allegedly misplaced; a member of the family that owns the Cava 22 bar says that the authorities want to see footage from July 21st and 22nd...

Does it really matter now? The thing is a week from being announced is this even relevant in Apples current scheme?

What a waste of SFPD resources, instead of using their time in solving murders..etc........they are looking for a missing phone.....that is just sad.

Yea that's what I'm thinking. If someone actually got this thing where are the leaks?

I don't know if people will hate me but on the fact of being a tech fan if I encounter a flashgrip device of any kind I would have already leaked them worldwide, people love to see how the device they plan on getting is going to look like

after the fruit gestapo tore up the last guys house and if i remember right, gizmodo's HQ, looking for the i4, i wouldnt be bragging about it either. I'd sell it to some iNut for a fat check, and go on with my life.

idk.... they guy supposedly has/had the phone already and he is getting his prostate exam done by the cops anyways.... from the moment he got the device on the bar it meant trouble for him, might as well make use of it and give us some pics

I guess the gps tracking doesn't work to good if they can't seem to locate it ;)

Do you all have your behinds so far up Apple's behind that you don't understand the issue? The issue is that COPS apparently coerced a citizen into allowing CIVILIANS to frisk his house. And that Apple's employees somehow convinced them to do this.
This no longer has anything to do with the phone. It's about cops misusing their authority to suck up to Apple. Or for the money they were given to do this. So it is likely dishonest cops and probably bribery by Apple.
Turn off your phones for a few minutes and use whatever you've got for brains.

This is probably a marketing stunt by Apple, since last year it was accidental and got them publicity.
Last year, we had the names of the guy who lost it, the one who found it and the one who took it apart. We had pictures of the phone, the tech police broke down the guy from Gizmodo's door down and all his stuff taken as evidence. This was an accident because you can't have something that stupid happen on purpose.
This year, we have a lost prototype, no name of the guy who lost it, no name of the guy who found it. We had a location of where it supposedly was and the name of the guy who lived there but he didn't have it and didn't even know about it. We have a flimsy story of who searched the house that changes each time there's an update on the story. The GPS lead them specifically to the guys' house, but the device wasn't there and the GPS hasn't been used since.
This is being done on purpose because the story doesn't hold itself together that well. There was no lost prototype, it's all a story that Apple has created to get people ready for the next iPhone. Because it worked so well last year.If there was an iPhone 5 that was truly lost, there would be pictures of it somewhere. And no way would Apple let another iPhone prototype get lost again, they really tightened security after that.

It is only a marketing gimmick as I said when PA wrote about the lost gadget some time back. And I maintain it is. The fact that a month later, we still haven't seen it's leaked photo further cements the fact that it's only a marketing gimmick- a failed one. Not to mention a report hasn't been file by Apple. Apple think we're stupid.

Apple is so full of its self. They only do it so they can be more controversial when it comes to their products and hype up the Iphone. Like they did with the Iphone 4 from a few years ago.

Funny, Last article i was argueing with some idiot how Apple was wrong doing somehow but becasue of their money, we wont hear of it.
The reason there is no complait yet is simply the lawer is smart and is building up himself a beautiful case.
It was no coincidence that the apple cronnie was an ex p.o. from that department.
I also stated that the statement from the department saying nothing wrong was done was a null statement. And wow... looks whats going on... the investigation still. I dont care if its not an internal investigation. The fact is, how could they wipe themselves of guilt when the initial investigation wasnt compleat..
I made the comment of people needing to open their damn eyes, shut off emotion and favortism of brand, and look at it with logic. Sh!t just doesnt add up, quit ignoring it.

Everyone should know make the police get a search warrant first, never give up your rights. Don't let them bully you or intimidate you!!!

I don't get it, if there's no investigation going on since there was no report filed, why is SFPD asking for the videos?
24. ibap (Posts: 726; Member since: 09 Sep 2009)
There is no investigation of the iPhone theft, or whatever they wanted to call it.
There IS an investigation of police misconduct.
