The whole iPhone thing isn't even an argument any more. With WinMo 6.5 and Android that can run on any manufacturer's hardware, there are already several phones 10 times more capable of well...everything. Oh and about iTunes- music playback has to stop so the phone can let you know you got a freaking text message. The Droid can run 10 or 20 apps at the same time without blinking an eye, and there are already thousands in the Android Market. I guess the sheep who buy iPhones are only capable of comprehending one app at a time.

You are comparing apples to oranges to peaches to pears here... it is an entirely different phone. Don't insult the Android phones by comparing them to apple, windows, palm or RIM and all the different ways to rearrange the comparissons to (4+3+2+1 is 10 different ways). They all do similar things for different people with different needs. I personal prefer windows mobile (rebranded now as Windows Phone) but am tempted by android and Palm's WebOS. I don't care for RIM's blackberries at all, and I am a down right hater of apple waaaaay before PDAs were common and PDA phones existed. Like Doakie said in another topic, "Apple earned my hate." Subsequently, I will never own an iPhone, EVER! To each their own and be happy. If you have an apple computer, buy iTunes and sync with your apple mail, why not buy an iPhone? If you love Gmail, Google Maps, iGoogle, Google Docs, and the 1000 other intuitive and innovative Google products, by all means YOU NEED AN ANDROID PHONE! If you have a Hotmail/Live/MSN email, need to create/edit Microsoft Office Docs, and like Microsoft, BUY A WINDOWS PHONE! They all do great things, and like I said, I prefer windows.

Anyone know if it will ship with 2.0 out of the box? Cuz that would sell me on it for sure. I like the droid's screen, but the thin and tacky keyboard interface doesn't make me very excited..............

I agree TP2 like phone capacitive screen htc passion gut's with a camera flash stronger vibration cause htc phones are weak in that department, and android 2.0 i'm sold..... but then again we live in the real world and we probably won't see anything like that for some time.

I recently switched from the G1 to an iPhone unlocked on T-Mobile. I really liked the G1, but the lack of efficient updates from Google made the phone feel really out dated. The g1 community really made that phone worth it. That combined with the SLUGGISH performance(the phone really lags bad), and the tiny internal memory made me switch over. I'm not a fanboy, but so far I prefer the iPhone. Until another phone comes along that tops what I like best, it will be my phone of choice for awhile. Not really interested in the Droid, but the Eris looks like an awesome phone. I've always been intrigued by the HTC Sense UI and REALLY wish a faster running European-model Hero would of came to the U.S. It might have made a difference in my purchase. I'm sick of hearing these brand-fan boys bashing other phones on the market, they all do GREAT things and it's all about PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
