No NOVA? NO!! Modern Combat 5 Last War, now you got my attention! That reminds me I need to pick up a PhoneJoy bluetooth controller and a DUO controller, I'm moving away from computer gaming and more to mobile gaming, Parties my friend, parties, I can take the mobile show on the road, that and as much as I like EVE online, I need to get out.....

13. darac posted on 08 Dec 2012, 03:15

Oh I just hope they are not ditching the NOVA series .. it's their showcase product and the next one should've been amazing

I'm definitely in the minority here but I'm not excited at all. It's sad that mobile has become so big. It means the computer specs are going to stagnate as more money is to be made in mobile games. No longer is a game like crysis going to have people frantically running out to buy new graphics cards or new computers because their old ones couldn't manage. Not when consumers are content with mediocre hardware and performance on celphones and tablets. No matter the version of adreno or mali, it still cant compare to even a first gen geforce. For better or worse pc gaming is slowly dying. Gone are the days of constantly refreshing the geforce page for a new driver just for a 5% improvement in skyrim. Soon powervr will release their new chip and games like mass effect will be ported to mobiles albeit with less oomph. Who cares if it sucks compared to the pc version. It's mass effect. On a phone! Sigh. I've yet to find a game my alienware cant push. Is this the begining of the end for more powerful pc graphics cards or will there be a game that makes my machine cry? I hope so. These god damned laptops are heavy

You are so spot on with your post.
It is sad for minority like you but great news for majority obviously.. now do the math.

I think it has to happen... I mean ther majority of people use their computers only for internet and facebook :) Hardcore gamers will still be hardcore gamers but with smartphones out now and in the future games will become more and more like REAL computer games and it's there where developement will have to be. PC stands for Personal Computer and I think that with devices like the Galaxy Note II and others Smartphones have become our Personal Computers.... in fact they are even more personal than our big boxes and laptops the whole family can use ;) So cudos to developers for making more and more great games for smartphones (look at Bard's Tale, it's fabulous!) I say keep 'em coming :D
