I love the idea of a fingerprint scanner on a mobile device, especially for enterprise. Secure, quick, and easy to use. Used to have it on an old Lenovo laptop and much preferred using it to sign in over a password.

If this has a couple USB 3.0 ports and some sort of portable keyboard, it'll be a beast.

It has an optional keyboard, and it has at least one full USB port, but the release doesn't say if it's 3.0 or not.

The USB on the Tablet is reported to be 2.0. There are three USB ports on the dock, but haven't seen anything yet indicating if they are 2.0, 3.0, or a mix.

That's where problem is, MS will colect handsome license fees.

No doubt price will be a huge factor. Still, there are a lot of vested interests between Lenovo, Microsoft & Intel for this to be a game changer, so they are likely to try keeping their profit margins small to be competitive. Hopefully Lenovo will have learned a lesson after seeing how the Android tablets priced themselves high when entering the market and were rewarded with only a luke-warm reception. And Lenovo has historically shown a much lower acceptable profit margin when they want to capture market share.

I guess the resolution is not good. But this is very interesting news b-c Windows tablets will have very good chance b-c of the strong ecosystem.

Not bad resolution, but not great either. I consider it acceptible, and will provide full 720p for movie/video playback.

This is your future laptop replacement where you only need a keyboard or keyboard dock

Now that Lenovo has come out swinging I look for Samsung , Asus, Dell and HP to show what they have to offer within 4 weeks because they want t the Public to know that they will have Windows tablets going to the market place too. but do not look for any of them to tell you what they will cost until October the Launch date of Windows 8

I really think that the Surface has really inspired Lenovo to come out with such a nice tablet. I know that it may be targeted for enterprise only, but hey, who wants to work with an ugly tablet? Anyway, other companies should follow suit like Lenovo, taking the Surface as a standard set by Microsoft, and not whine and complain bout it (i.e Acer). Really am looking forward to what new innovations Windows 8 will bring when it comes out.!

Is Acer locked out of Windows 8 for now? Is that why they are bitching a fit?

Only if they want to be. I think Acer got caught with their intended product offering for a Win8 tablet to be inferior to the Surface. So all they could do was bitch at Microsoft because their product development and marketing reports have completely missed the mark. Acer should stop crying and start bringing quality products to market.
