Lenovo A Plus and Lenovo (Vibe) P2 official: latter gets 5.5" FHD display & 5100 mAh battery

The Lenovo A Plus, seen above to the left, offers standard low-end fare. Its 4.5-inch display chugs out a very lowly 480 x 854 resolution, while MediaTek's 1.3 GHz MT6580 chip along with one gig of RAM is about as frugal as it gets. The 8 GB storage isn't much to work with either, but thankfully, Lenovo has gone to the trouble of including microSD support. 

The 2000 mAh battery is quite small when compared even with moderately-stocked smartphones on the market. However, since the device carries such little power across the board, it should last a decent stretch before the lights go out. Elsewhere, the handset gets a 5-megapixel shooter on the back with LED flash, while the 2-megapixel front-facing camera is not intended for your everyday selfie lover. 

Packing 4G with VoLTE support, the Lenovo A Plus is available in Europe for the price of €69 ($77), while a dual-SIM variant is on offer for €79 ($88).

A successor to the Lenovo Vibe P1, the Lenovo P2's star attraction is once again it's gargantuan battery. The 5000 mAh juice pack of its predecessor has been bumped slightly 5100 mAh, while the newer Snapdragon 625 SoC displaces the Snapdragon 615. 

As was confirmed by recent TENAA certification, the P2 includes a 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920 display that offers a respectable 401 PPI. The current version out in Europe includes 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB expandable real estate, but Lenovo has promised an upcoming edition for China with 4 gigs of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. 

Unlike the K6 models, the Lenovo P2's fingerprint sensor is baked onto the front of the device, where it's joined by a 5-megapixel selfie camera. A 13-megapixel Sony snapper, meanwhile, adorns the back. 

So, with five new smartphones from Lenovo over the past week — six if you include the Moto Z Play unveiled by its Motorola Mobility division — there's quite a broad range on offer from the Chinese firm. Bearing in mind the recently-announced Moto Z and Moto Z Force as well, Lenovo seems to have most bases covered as it attempts to appeal to the masses.
