Leaked spec sheet reveals Wi-Fi and more on Verizon's BlackBerry Curve 8530
Thanks to a leaked spec sheet, we have some more information on Verizon's BlackBerry Curve 8530. Big Red's version of the entry level Curve 8520 will be equipped with Wi-Fi (makes you shake your head when you realize that the carrier's top of the line Storm and Tour models go without that feature), a 2MP camera, QWERTY keyboard, and a display with resolution of 320 x 240. The last we heard about the 8530, code named the aries, was that the device had been delayed until February. Pricing is still up in the air for the moment.

It amuses me that this was posted as common knowledge before the Tour came out and now it's posted again as if it's breaking news. As for the comment about the Storm and Tour, I believe the Storm 2 is supposed to come out before the Aries and should offer WiFi. I'm glad to hear VZW will start offering WiFi on their Blackberry's as this probably means moving forward we should start seeing WiFi on all their Blackberry's.

I also really like the concept of the optical track pad, should prove to be more reliable.

My only concern is how it will be after 6 months of use. At least I can replace the trackball in my shop. Dead trackpad means replacing the device. More headaches for technicians? I hope not. We will see. I do like the Wi-Fi, however
