If you happen to be the many people patiently waiting to see prices drop, you might be surprised to find that a potential 16GB version of the tablet will be making its way to Verizon some time down the road. Glancing over...

seriously though unless its at minimum 50 dollars less than the iPad 2. Then I think we can count this xoom out of being anything slightly competitive.

Xoom is a higher end device than the iPad2. So it may be 699 with 4G. Hopefully it will be cheaper off and on contract.
A good sales rep can position the Xoom better with it's higher end features, as well as having LTE which offers a much faster internet experience, On that note the Wifi Xoom 16 GB will probably be 499.99.
Competitively priced and higher features mean it will sell. Will it be as big of a seller as the iPad? No of course not. For starters there are more than one Android OS tablet. Hundreds of other reasons but that one is more than enough.

"Xoom is a higher end device than the iPad2."
Which is why something like 100,000 Xoom's have been sold.

Hey, that's the argument Apple fans use all the time as to why Apple never has a commanding market share--their products are better quality thus more expensive. . . and the "unwashed" will only buy cheap shit. . . aka the iPad. . . funny how those arguments always come back home.
thus, the Xoom is the better product. . .obviously!

If the Xoom sucked your dick and printed money, ipad would still outsell. fact.

Well how about that. Motorola listened to all of you whiny brats. Guaranteed it will be priced fairly.
It's amazing, isn't it? A company responding to demand and adjusting and fixing issues as they crop up instead of just flipping their customers off and saying "wait until next year or return it if you don't want our products, you ungrateful jerk."

No matter how you look at it, its still a piece of shit.

I was referring to the iPad and iPad 2.

I have a wifi xoom and I can seriously say that its not worth the $600 price tag. The only reason I can say this is because I have found (through testing out this product) that tablets are not for me. I cannot use the tablet in direct sunlight, and I have to be holding it constantly ( I do not like cases).
A lot of the features on the xoom are fun and all, but I will wait until we have universal docks for tablets so we can use them on our monitors.

I like that simple idea, but i do not think any of the tablet manufacturers will do it: Allow the tab to either convert into an extension monitor or allow an monitor to hook up to it so that home browsing and working is easier. I'm imagining a beautiful 8.9" tab that has all the connections so that once I get home it turns into my keyboard/apptray area and my 20" monitor doing the duties that 8.9" cannot. I am excited now!

I;m just waiting on a decent price Xoom with Wifi only. I have a Thunderbolt that will supply the 4G access. I just don't understand why it's soo much, even with the high end features. Let's just put it out there and in people's hand. I bet even lowering it $50 or $100 it would change people's mind about buying it. :) DROID DOES !!!!
