Both are said to contain a built-in sensor, Bionz processor, Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, and a microSD slot...

And it looks sexy. I'd buy it for the looks only... but wait... Triluminos screen looks good, Snapdragon 800 is not bad either, the 20 Mpx camera is shaping up to be somewhere between the S4 and the Lumia 1020 in quality.... I'm definitely buying!

the last advertisement is pointless, they say honami has great camera and then install this lens camera on top as if the camera built in isnt good enough
21. Feanor (Posts: 334; Member since: 20 Jun 2012)
? I think it's pretty obvious; Regardless of the quality of the inbuilt camera of a smartphone, the add-on lenses will offer better shooting quality that no smartphone can offer.

Yeah until this day there is no cameraphone is able to compete with RX Camera.

so then just get HTC One for close up shots and then for far away pictures get this add on.

Innovation and Revolution.
Sony why compromise.
When will this be available...? I have the Sony Z which is a great device.
22. fouadqr (Posts: 319; Member since: 21 Nov 2012)
yes.. xperia z which has the worst display and the worst cam in the world of smartphone
29. FaisalWibowo11 (Posts: 144; Member since: 12 Aug 2013)
Really? Do you even own Xperia Z? I own it..
Worst display? LOL. The display is great, sharp and perfect for watching movies because of its color accuracy. It's true that the viewing angles aren't great but who looks at their phones from sideways?
Worst Camera? You are completely ignorant. I've tested the camera against so many handsets. The camera of Xperia Z is able to outperform many 8MP shooters (such as Samsung Galaxy S3, iphone 4s, Xperia Arc, etc) and even a couple of 12MP shooters such as Xperia S. But yes, the camera of Xperia Z still loses against that of galaxy s4. So, saying Xperia Z has the worst cam is completely ignorant of you
Typical Sony haters that knows nothing..

pal....compare it with recent flagships...not last years'
38. FaisalWibowo11 (Posts: 144; Member since: 12 Aug 2013)
In what aspects?
Screen? Yes htc one's super lcd 3 is better. But i'm not quite a fan of super amoled though
Camera? I already said it before, xperia z was able to outperform htc one's ultrapixel many 8MP shooters. BUT IT STILL CAN'T BEAT SAMSUNG GALAXY S4'S CAMERA!
39. FaisalWibowo11 (Posts: 144; Member since: 12 Aug 2013)
Htc one's ultrapixel "and" many 8MP shooters, sory
65. pwnarena (Posts: 979; Member since: 15 Feb 2013)
the xperia z was announced to be a competitor to the iphone 5 and galaxy s3. that was what sony said so it is rightfully being compared to those older devices.
call it late but it's definitely not meant to fare well against the newer flagships.
37. BillyG (Posts: 305; Member since: 24 Sep 2012)
sure, and since you love those old phones so much, why dont compare it also with iphone1,3g, nokia 6600, 7200, etc
25. Credo (Posts: 695; Member since: 19 Apr 2012)
I love that phone but that battery is very poor :(

WOW... now with this lens even crappy low end phones can take better picture than Lumia 1020 or S4 Zoom.
10. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
And forget those iphone and android lens kits!
26. GamePlayer (Posts: 48; Member since: 06 Jun 2013)
Yeah it can make "crappy low end" phones take better pics than lumia 1020 or s4.
But the lens won't come free... at might be priced the same as a good camera. So what difference would it make? Unless.... sony thinks something good... or genuis or something.
34. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
...go educate yourself a bit....you have no idea what crap you're talking about.

Dude don't be rude... if i don't know then tell me... don't bitch about it...
80. GamePlayer (Posts: 48; Member since: 06 Jun 2013)
"Go educate yourself a bit" dude, you don't have to be rude just because i did'nt know that... that was really offensive to me.. like you're saying i have no education at all... dude.. don't be rude.
44. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
since there is no LCD Screen and Camera controls, i believe the price is around $300 for bigger lens and $200 for the smaller lens.
With $500-$600 i can get Xperia SP and one of those lens.
I can pair it with smartphone, tablet, laptop, smartwatch basicly any device with wifi or nfc support. and Take some remote pic, spycame, or even webcam.
This lens also have optical zoom and impresive image quality that no other cameraphone can offer, but the best thing is i don’t have to use bulky cameraphone all the time.
47. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
This lenses is a great idea, it keeps the phone slim and beautiful and when on occasion i need to take “better” photos, i can simply attach/pair the lense.
63. pwnarena (Posts: 979; Member since: 15 Feb 2013)
it's not "wifi or nfc" it's wifi or wifi and nfc. wifi should be present. i think nfc only pairs devices, not enable data transmission.
32. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
ech.,.......kid.....you can add as many external lenses you want but it won't change internal "heart" of a phone and turn crap into a marvel thing.
if something takes crappy pictures, it won't help.
41. TROLL (banned) (Posts: 4851; Member since: 13 Apr 2012)
True when it comes to camera phones Nokia1020 is the one to defeat! Just have to wait for Sony Honami! Till then Best camera goes to N1020
46. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
Please read the article this lenses have built in sensor and Bionz processor i know 1020 is great cameraphone but with this lens even my crappy Galaxy Y can takes better picture than your beloved 1020.

Why the hate for the Lumia1020 and S4 Yudinemesis®
48. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
Who says i hate 1020 i’ve been using Nokia phone for years.
For me those lens is better idea, cuz with this lens my GS2 and E6-00 can take photos or videos with RX100MII quality and it keeps the phone slim and beatiful.
thats why i said even crappy low end phones can take better picture than 1020 or S4 zoom.

Camera quality isn't just lenses, it's software, sensor, and, most importantly, the meat machine BEHIND the camera. I doubt I could take one of these, attach it my HTC Sensation, and come up with photos as good as those I scan take with a 1020, let alone my 925, at least in the sense of pulling phone out of pocket while firing up camera, frame shot, take photos, turn off phone and return to pocket. With the extra lens, have to take both out of pocket, take lens caps off the lens assembly, attach, frame, shoot, detach, cover lenses, replace both in pocket. Bulkier, heavier, more awkward.
That said, if there were lenses made by it for the OEM for certain cameras that could work in sync (NFC, Bluetooth, USB) with the phone then I might consider it, just as lenses are for SLR/DSLRs.

Hey before you talk to much BS, you must read this article from the source!
let me tell you something about this lenses, the bigger lens is basically Sony RX100MII camera (if you doesn’t know anything about RX camera just google it) without lcd screen and camera controls.
The smaller lens is based on Sony WX150.
The bigger lens features 1” BSI sensor, Zeiss lens, Bionz image processor Optical SteadyShot and Optical Zoom.
You can pair your HTC Sensation with this lens (no need to attach it to the phone) and take way better photos/videos than 1020 or any other cameraphone on the market.
The smaller lens features a 10x zoom Sony G lens with 1/2.3 18MP BSI Sensor, f/3.3-5.9, Bionz image processor and Optical SteadyShot.
with this lens your HTC Sensation can take photos/videos with very good quality maybe even little bit better than 1020.
the lenses is more compact than any 1” and 10x zoom camera, wifi and nfc connectivity means you use it with any device and no matter what phone you have with this lens you can take photos/videos with dslr or point and shot quality

3rd photo Honami.....
sony bring it on....
new concept....make it happen
14. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
you control it via WiFi or NFC, thats why you can use it with any device.
19. emadshiny (Posts: 1142; Member since: 05 Dec 2012)
You can see the NFC tag on the top of the lens in the first pic
36. muhsen (Posts: 268; Member since: 07 Jun 2012)
hmmm...not really ..... this is essentially the same iteration of the s4 zoom but with a twist , u can separate the lens
if people laughed at the s4 zoom ( i am totally against that device btw), they should laugh at this now....the main concept of mobile photography is to challenge physics and put an amazing sensor in a modern smartphone body like what Nokia did with lumia 1020...not to carry another device to plug to the phone....what's the point of the all in one device approch then ??? why shouldn't i carry a real camera since i am carrying two devices in the first place?? bam..the concept of a camera phone is gone and good moments don't wait till i plug the lens to the phone.
which is the better smartphone , Honami or 1020 ...that's another different story
60. Lyngdoh (Posts: 225; Member since: 06 Sep 2012)
You totally dont get it. Do you? You think that I was talking about the phone but no I was talking about the lens camera. Sony made this device for android and ios not just Xperia phones. This device does not mean to show that Honami have a less capable camera. Sony's approach here is to keep the phone in shape and less expensive. Many people wants a phone with good specs but not with the bulk of 808 and the cost of a car. Not all people takes photographs everyday(nobody will force you to take this device along with your phone everywhere). Afterall this is just a great accessory.
