Leaked images offer first look at upcoming all-metal Moto G5S

Android Authority has gotten hold of these images (click or tap to zoom) of the upcoming Moto G5S, allegedly obtained from a trusted source with knowledge of Lenovo's plans. The smartphone is shown in grey, gold, and blue color options. From a design perspective, the only differentiation between the Moto G5S and the Moto G5 or G5 Plus is the full metal body, whereas the aforementioned models have aluminum back plates and plastic sides.

It isn't clear if there are any hardware changes to go along with the updated, more premium look. The original Moto G5 sports a modest Snapdragon 430 processor running at 1.4GHz, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It's an okay configuration for essential smartphone tasks like calls, apps, and browsing the net. Coupled with Motorola's lightweight Android skin, the Moto G5 packs decent performance for the money. It also has a 5-inch 1080p resolution screen, which is great, along with a 13MP rear camera. If the Moto G5S has the same spec sheet or one that's at least as adequate, it's going to be a pretty good mid-range phone.

Motorola is keeping busy behind the scenes, with several new models such as the Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z2 Play, Moto C series, and Moto E4 series headed to launch sometime this year. Have a gander at the leaked materials below if you want to get up to speed with the Lenovo-owned company's plans.
