Leaked document shows Sprint version of Samsung Galaxy S III to get Jelly Beaned on October 25th
Share:
At the beginning of the month, a leaked version of the Jelly Bean update was made available to Sprint owners from XDA developers forum, although it was not the same build as the update coming from the carrier. Android 4.1 brings some great features such as the smooth as silk scrolling of Project Butter and Google Now, which brings you timely information that you need to know, uh, now.

I'll believe it when I see it.
If so, awesome job to both Samsung and Sprint.

PA remember what happened the last time you took truth into a rumor that turned out to be a hoax?
Take every rumor with a grain of salt.

Everything should be taken with a grain of salt until officially confirmed.

I agree with you.
They've had these "official" updates in the past and haven't updated until like two months later...

Horrible service in my area. Slow 3G speeds and terrible call service quality. My friend, who has AT&T, and I tested our data speeds on 3G and he was able to listen to music on Spotify and go on Facebook at the same time, while I was only able to be able to listen to Spotify (rarely) and wasn't able to even load up Facebook. It even took me a couple minutes to load up Google the other day, believe it or not. Just shows how terrible Sprint is in my area. Yes, they are the most affordable in my area (even given a %21 discount on bill) but the service I get isn't worth it.

For the same reason as iOS6 just had 60% adoption rate even after 1 month in US/CANADA. Attend few more Apple brainstorming sessions in Apple Campus and equip yourself to argue like a grown up ... as for knowing Android you don;t even know iOS fully yet ... Android is far beyond your grey matter :)

yes you are right Android is more advance but it doesn't matter when less than 10% has the updated version... and Android is so advance that is controlled by american carriers on the iggest cellphone market.. yesss

Yeah, this is the one thing about Android that I find annoying.
I wish there was some universal update method like Apple does with no carrier stalling, but you can just plug your phone in, it backs it up, installs the update, and restores it.
I'm happy with everything else. :)

You apparently do not know Android very well...the "few weeks" comment is talking about regualr customers getting the on screen message that there is an OTA avaible. You can force your phone to check now by going to Menu - System Update - Update Firmware. What does your Sprint GS3 say when you do that? I've been on the JB roms all month so I won't get the OTA but others I work with on non-rooted phones were able to download the update using the manual check. Plus there is always Odin!

Just four days before the Key Lemon Pie release...
I think they are releasing now to have one excuse when the clients start to screaming for the 4.2.
"We just release one update. We are now studying the possibilites for the next update and will make an announcement as soon as possible."
A couple of month after...
"We will be realising the update of Samsung Galaxy SIII for android 4.2 in Q4 of 2013"
