While a leaked document reveals a November 29th launch for the Samsung GALAXY Note II, Verizon's website shows the 5.5 inch phablet being delivered on October 27th; pre-orders are now being accepted for the modelk which is priced at $299.99 after a signed two-year pact...

My pre-order order confirmation e-mail states delivery by 11/27/2012. I suspect I will get my Note II by the 27th.

Of course, I guess VZW could slip out the ship date, since the Note II has yet to ship.... :-(
Then again, I could always cancel my order (especially if AT&T Note IIs are shipping by 11/9).

Gotta say why waste getting this on Verizon. Tmobile and even Sprint are banging with a true Galaxy Note 2 not some kind of cosmetic changes. If you want the best device with UNLIMITED DATA USAGE TMOBILE & SPRINT is the place not Verizon or At&t.

"Why waste getting this on Verizon?" Because you will be on the best network and have TRUE 4G LTE, on almost the entire USA...that's why you would wait 4 weeks.

You obviously have never been tortured by Sprint's slow-@$$ network or their Customer dis-Service Outsourced Calling Centers. Or, you only use your phone to play Solitaire and don't actually use Data??
I would agree to an extent with T-Mo' but, not Sprint-Po'.
Besides, Verizon's network is really K-I-N-G!!

I agree with you that VZW is in fact KING, when it comes to coverage and data speeds. But it seems to me that Verizon has gotten in the habit of using that status as a weapon against its own customers. They've taken EVERY known perk of being a loyal VZW customer away from us. There's no more New Every 2, no more annual upgrades, no more promotion plans, no more unlimited data even if you were grandfathered in. And what they've added is new upgrade fees, higher priced plans, and a big f*cking chip on their shoulder about the fact you can use your phone in a bunch of little town I'll NEVER go to.
By the time the 27 arrives, I'll be a whole week into enjoying my T-Mobile Note 2. And not that it would have been a deal breaker for me, but I'm glad I won't have to stare at the big stupid branding on that tiny button sticking out like a sore thumb on my giganta-phone. VZW is great, but I'll just go ahead and save the $720 a year and still enjoy my unlimited data.

You see Whateverman, if people had taken my advice back in 2005 and subscribed to "Unlimited Data for PDA" this wouldn't be an issue. Now, I agree
with you that Verizon has taken away many perks but, the reality is, it really depends on the Customer Service Rep' you reach when calling into Verizon. That is not to say that some of their reps' are incapable, for the most part, they are all capable. The difference is, and I hate to generalize, the female reps' tend to be more helpful. Case in point, last year November 2011 to be precise, I was faced with an inconceivable dilemma with regard to my Verizon Unlimited Data Plan and the "incompatibility" for a 4G device upgrade. My "grandfathered" plan only supported 3G devices, allegedly. My only options to upgrade from that CRAPPPPY DROID X were to upgrade to a DROID 3 or a buggy iPhone 4S since they were 3G devices. I, being a merchant of sorts, chose the latter and ordered the limiting iPhone 4S 64GB, with the intention of having the Global Department "unlock" it so I could then turn around and flip it for a profit, of course, after I put
in at least one insurance claim.
To make a long story short, the day I was supposed to receive the iPhone 4S 64GB via FedEx, I placed a call to Customer Service on another matter. Somehow, the rep' and I clicked and I took the opportunity to express my dissatisfaction with my "forced" upgrade, explaining that I really hated iOS because it was so limiting compared to Android and that all the previous reps' had informed me that my upgrade (to keep "Unlimited Data") was restricted to 3G devices only. The rep' told me that I shouldn't have to settle and added the following, 'you have been a Verizon customer since forever! besides you already have "Unlimited Data" as your primary plan and the codes for the feature were still in the account from when I was on that dreaded Thunderbolt for two short weeks in May'. She was baffled as to why the previous reps' didn't just pull the codes from the account history.
In the end, she flipped the switch on her end and gave me a non published voice plan with the "Unlimited Data" feature tacked on, thus, allowing me to walk into any Verizon store and buy the RAZR (and, I won't even go into the discounts I got there).
Moral of the story: never take one rep' on his or her word; there are reps' who can work and manipulate Verizon's system or be familiar with a system process that others are not (granted, the above is much more difficult now because Verizon has really locked down their system in the past 10 months and the plan codes have been changed). If you call into Verizon and a guy answers, hang-up and keep calling until you get a female (and, don't be afraid to do some sweet talkin')!!

My friend, at this point it doesn't matter what the sex of the rep is. They have all been trained to just keep saying "No". The thing is, I'm on that same unlimited plan and I don't want to give it up because I use about 3GB a month. My "water-resistant" Razr was splayed with water and that great nano-coating kicked into action, soaking up the tiny droplets like a sponge. Now, my phone isn't working and I understand water damage is water damage, but when I too upgraded to a 4G device just to keep my unlimited data, and later they tell me any signing of a two year contract means no more unlimited... I can no longer trust them.
But all 4 of the young ladies I spoke with kindly reminded me, "Be you CAN keep your unlimited data. Just pay full retail or use an old phone". Yeah, because old phones are what every techie wants. So it all boils down to two options... Either pay more money for every phone I get in the future, or sign up for the 2GB tiered data plan and pay more money in overages, or sign up for the shared plan and pay more money. Either way, VZW's only option for me is to (Yep! You guessed it.) PAY MORE MONEY.
But T-Mobile service works great where I would need it. They'll give me unlimited everything, and I'll pay $60 a month less than what I'm paying now. I love VZW, but I'm not feeling the love back so screw em'.

T-Mo is $650 ($649.99 is close enough to $650), so $699 isn't too far away price-wise. What gets me is why not release the damn thing now. The Note IIs for every carrier have received FCC approval, so there is no technical reason not to sell the thing.

you should be thankful for having it on a 700usd price. Here in Philippines, a 700usd price tag for note2 could be acquired from grey market/internet. On their stores,(samsung store) it's about 800usd.

like, they hold stuff back to highlight other phones and stuff like that

I would think it's strategy. Just like in chess the pawns go first for a reason. Release this too close to another phone and then you have people returning phones within the 30 day period. At the end of the day it's all about business and the bottom line. And it's a reason why Verizon is the number one phone carrier.

Why do you think that Verizon has them sitting around in their warehouses? I have read that it is hard to find one for TM or Sprint because of supply shortages...I really don't think Samsung can produce them fast enough...Verizon needs to get a LARGE supply ready for their launch. Does anybody know how many were pre-ordered?

Enjoy your Note II exclusivity while it lasts. In the interim, my GS III on VZW is plenty fast, not to mention has better coverage....

Interesting silence about the HTC X5 (or whatever the HTC phone with 5 inch 1080p screen was going to be called). That phone was supposed to launch before the Note II.

Graphic may have been updated due to revised ship date for new orders. It is a month out, so only time will tell.
If AT&T hadn't ended their 30 day no-questions-asked return option, I might have tried the AT&T version of the Note II.

This phone is definitely worth the wait and the price. Have the sprint version and haven't even rooted it yet, and I usually root every phone I buy within hours. Never have used touchwiz before, but I don't mind it. All I have ever used before was HTC, and I liked sense too. Screen is great, and overall size is not as big as you might think. Overall the best device I've ever owned. My rooted EvoLte was great, and hopefully keeps the Gf happy. This is better except for maybe the camera. Evo had a great camera. This one isn't bad but haven't really played with it enough to give real comparison.

My question is this.....if verizon is #1 in network and customer service, then WHY are they last to have this phone?? that baffles me because they did the same thing to the SIII when it came out this past summer

I am developing a serious amount of hatred towards Verizon.
