Actually the battery is top notch. I charge mine in the morning and its off the charger 7am and I dont back on the charger until after 9pm. With a lot of usage it still last me for 12 hours. Best HTC EVER. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE PHONE.

I thought the same as you but I am getting about 22 hours with my EVO LTE, and that's with mid/heavy use. Truly impressed when compared to my Photon 4G.

By two days. But it doesn't matter, the Evo is on par with the GS III in most areas and outperforms it in build quality, camera utility, and screen. It comes down to personal preference, as raw specs and performance are comparable.

Both phones are awesome, but, most reviews claim the Samsung software enhancements are pretty gimmicky. S Voice doesnt work as well as it should, not to mention that if it's anything like people I know with iPhones, most people probably wont use it. Also, you can download Vlingo from the market and it does the same as S Voice since S Voice is pretty much a rebranded app by Vlingo. The only cool thing I like is the front facing camera sight feature that keeps the screen on if it detects you are looking at it.
As you mentioned though, there are many pluses to the EVO, like build quality, that's not even debatable, and most reviews show Sense 4 as being more refined and aesthetically pleasing than Touchwiz.
The only thing better about the SGS3 is the 2gigs of RAM, but we now see that the HTC One X and EVO LTE are benchmarking higher that the SGS3 even with the extra RAM, its about 4500 vs. 5000 on Quadrant; not a big deal, really.
Either way I am picking up a SGS3 and will be comparing it to the EVO LTE as that is the closest phone to it in the US since it's actually an upgraded One X.
BTW, most reviews are also showing the EVO LTE / OneX camera to be slightly superior in quality and features due to the dedicated ImageSense chip that HTC uses, Samsung does not but most features are on par.

I at least am waiting till the GSIII comes out. It wasn't like this was a bad phone, Samsung just did a little better. And having a single phone without any significant carrier changes both in the US & international is something the Evo just can't compete with. My Evo LTE is great, but I still can't wait to trade it this week for the GSIII

Don't forget though, the camera button can be programmed to be the R-button in N64 emulators! It makes playing Mario Kart so much easier than relying on on-screen R and Z buttons! (The volume up button is Z)

I had connection worries the entire time with the EVO. Loved the feel but took it back and waiting on GSIII. Had the epic 4g touch with no problem and can't wait til the 32gig SGIII. It's white too, by the way.

Sprint chose not include it, I think they wanted the phone to look clean / classier but it definitely does have Beats.
