Leaked document confirms that Verizon will launch the Motorola Moto X on August 23rd

0. phoneArena 06 Aug 2013, 15:01 posted on

A leaked inventory screenshot from Verizon shows that the eagerly awaited Motorola Moto X will be launched by the nation's largest carrier on August 23rd; that is the so-called "street date" listed on the leaked screenshot while it appears that the phone will be in-stock at Verizon stores on August 15th. Earlier rumors had the Moto X launching on August 23rd, so the inventory screen confirms this speculation...

$199 for the 16 GB version, no mention of the 32 GB? Looks to me like Verizon is forcing people into the more expensive Droid Maxx. Not that that's a bad thing, but it would be nice to have the higher storage option. The two phones may function identically, but the X is a nice, manageable size.

blame AT&T for the 32GB. as long AT&T with their greedy pockets paid too Motorola it won't be a hit if the 32GB going too be on one carrier it will never sell that's the truth. FK AT&T. And does verizon have the X PHONE? Don't they have their own line up of DROIDS with their greedy big battery pack? they don't need the X phone they have the RAZR

I'd rather have both, but Motorola seems ready to shoot itself in the foot with limited memory on all but AT&T. Offer Moto Maker and the 32 gigger on ALL carriers at launch. If they want the X to sell in huge numbers, they shouldn't have any exclusive deals. Period.

I understand that most of the Nexus models don't have expandable memory BUT why take that same path with this phone? Smh...when will they learn? Guess that's what Google Drive is for...

I really hope that they release at around this same time, a Google play edition variant. That would be awesome. If it can hit the $299 to $399 price point then I am sold and will definitely be picking one up.

If it's priced at $200 subsidized, I expect the Google Play edition at $500-600. It's simple math unfortunately.

I can't believe people are STILL holding out hope for a subsidized price...

Look at the price of the HTC One and Galaxy S4 Google editions... use logic. Done.

THIS is the phone that Verizon has been waited for. The Moto X could be the "Galaxy S3" of Motorola. I could be wrong, but the variety of colors and customization makes this phone quite popular not only within Verizon, but all of the carriers that the Moto X is going to

But these colors and customization is only available to AT&T at launch.... Smh. They shot them selves I'm the foot with that. Exclusivity is a thing of the past for phone carriers. When will OEMs learn...

Verizon will have the same feature that AT&T has towards the end of the year..........at least that what the rumors are saying.

$199 is far too much to charge for a phone with mid range specs.

I know right?! And yet people will still drop that for an iPhone with out batting an eye. I'm as baffled by it as you by it.

Lol "by it as you by it" don't know how that second "by it" made its way in there.

"mid range specs"... so that answers my question of "what will Mxy crow about now that the Moto X exists?" And yet the X follows the iPhone hardware ethic of small size, great screen, fast GPU more than any Android to date.

which is why i compared it to the S3 when it first came out. We all know that phones shouldnt be over $200 at launch, but thats their way of getting people to buy them. I dont like it either, but i tihnk thats been their tactic for a while now
