Leaked Storm update causing more problems than fixes?
Two days after a leaked version of OS 4.07.83 for the BlackBerry Storm hit the Internet, many of those who took the plunge and loaded it on their phone are reporting problems sever enough to make them go back to the last official OS release, .75.

Initial comments from Storm owners mentioned faster shutter speed for the camera and quicker downloading with the browser. Now, the forum is full of stories about devices freezing up, the loss of various Bluetooth functions and problems with the phone's muting mechanism.

83 hasn't been a Trojan Horse for everyone and some have claimed they have not had any problems at all. But for the others, it is just another reminder why it is best to wait for the official release of software before you load it on your phone.

Honestly that what the users get, they should have waited for the offical release of the update rather than trusting something else. I have my Storm and I saw the leeked update, and my Storm works just fine. I have no problem waiting for the Offical

Well, it says leaked. So, Verizon or Blackberry is still working on the update. Rather wait for the official release.

Exactly, if you decide to jump the gun and go after a update before it is officially sanctioned for release, then you have no one to blame but yourself if you have issues. I didnt update to it, I didnt find it necessary, my device works great and the newest update was more cosmetic then anything else.

I have downloaded the update and so far have had mixed results. Immediately after the update I had problems even booting my phone up. It would load to the home screen and after a few seconds freeze at the VZW screen. I had to do a soft reset 7 times to get it to come back! Yes, web browsing is slightly faster, as is the accelerometer, but for no reason the phone will start to lag and I will have to reboot it. I'm not sure if I'll revert back or not, but they better get some fixes done soon

Maybe wait untill the official release? If it was done, they would have released it...

It's like being with a pornstar... it's exciting, different, new but in the end... if you jump the gun.. the outcome not so good. ... so i've heard. =)
