A leaked promo card for the Motorola Moto G confirms some of the specs that have recently been bandied about in relation to the phone; on Thursday, a tweet from evleaks said that this phone would be offered by carriers for free with a signed two-year contract. The device looks like a Motorola Moto X that was left in your pants pocket and went through the wash, although it will have a removable battery...

What do you expect for $215? A Snapdragon 800?

Way small? 4.5" 720p is larger and higher pixel density than the praised iPhone 5S. Processor wise who knows, stock Android might be able to run smooth on a lower end processor. How smooth does 4.3 run on the dual core 1.2 Ghz Galaxy Nexus? Also take into account core count doesn't mean it can't have a capable GPU paired up with it. Look at the Moto X, lower powered last gen processor paired with a current gen GPU.

Honestly I've been looking at lower cost phones to put on my T Mobile line; checking out the Blu branded phones, if this phone really does launch at $220 that'll be the price of the 4.7" 720p Blu Life Play. That's very tempting.

4.5" displays may be more of a sweet spot for many so it's a nice option to have and I would hope the future Droid M/ Mini would have a 4.5" edge-to-edge display so it wouldn't be bigger than a phone w/ 4.3" display.

As for the processor it's a quad core and rumored to be a Snapdragon Pro (TBD). Definitely far from slow and can be still relevant today, especially at that price point. The phone's also got a removable battery and an up to date Android OS. The only thing that's not so good would be the camera but who knows, MP count isn't everything.

Man why are you people so negative about this phone?
So when Apple releases the $1000 off-contract 5s people try to justify it this way and that, and when Motorola releases a decent $215 phone people comment "Oh noes, only quad core and 4.5" HD screen?
I'd like you to find a better-specced phone at the same price from a reputable brand.

People are so dumb they don't even know why they buy an iPhone for only because everyone else has one

I've got the nexus 5 on pre-order, but this phone looks like a pretty good value option too, wonder if I should cancel the nexus 5 order, or not...

Well just like some people buy phones dependent on specs some people buy phones dependent on price. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon and only 30 fps 720p recording? Sounds like a Snapdragon 400 with Adreno 305. Not bad certainly, especially for a $215 device. The display makes it even better though.

$215 and free on contract? They should be paying you to get it on contract if it's going to be $215 no-contract, since a lot of phones go for $600-650 no contract and $200 on contract.

I wonder if North America will ever be less carrier oriented, like most of the world. I just get of waiting for carriers to carry a certain phone, or to release an update.

Probably end up In a clamshell as a prepaid.. But, it's not a bad spec'd phone for the price, and if they say it's $215, it will probably be less.
